Gen 3 NA High Compression Build

    Hey guys!

Putting together a heads/cam build for my 2006 coupe. Figure I'd document it and maybe get some advice/input on what I put together. Regardless, this car has been down since June of last year...argh. It was Paxton supercharged (how I bought it)...one day after some spirited highway driving, I heard quite the ruckus from under the hood. Turns out I lost part of one of my pistons. Fast forward nearly a year of me pinching my pennies and here I am. I did tons of research, price comparisons (because I had to be very conscious of budget), and landed with some great vendors after putting it all together.

Thankfully, my block and heads were salvageable. The engine was torn down and washed, cylinders honed. The heads were washed, decked and milled.

    Block:
    -10.5:1 spec forged pistons (Racetec)
    -Clevite main + rod bearings
    -Fresh ARP rod bolts
    -Stock rods (oh well...)
    -Rotating assembly balanced
    -All new OEM gaskets
-ATI Super Damper + ARP balancer bolt
    Heads:
-Heads ported + 5-angle valve job (heads flowing ~25-30cfm over stock)
    -JMB custom spec cam (241/246)
-JMB dual valvespring kit with titanium retainers
    -JMB hardened pushrods (7.550)
    -ARP headstuds
    -Mopar slow bleed lifters
    -Manley 2.02 intake / 1.60 exhaust valves
    Misc:
    -RSI K&N intake kit
    -BBK throttle body
-ported intake manifold (just port matched runners...for now.)
    -JMB 170* Tstat
    -RSI oil cooler lines
    -IPSCO billet UD pulley
    -IPSCO short throw shifter
    -Coated M&M headers (I believe they are 1 5/8")
    -Mopar 3" "race" exhaust
    -Moroso catch can
    -New OEM clutch/master/slave
    Fuel/spark:
    -Walbro 400 LPH fuel pump
    -Siemens 60# flow matched injectors
-New NGK plugs + "QualityWires" spark plug wires
    Prior mods:
    -Recent stoptech rotors
    -Hawk HPS 2.0 pads
    -KW V2 coilovers

Quite excited to get this thing back on the road!!
I'm hoping the car comes in around 625-650whp on a dynojet. Not a huge concern of peak power since this will primarily be a street car. Time will tell. Shooting to have the car done around the 4th of July. I've been talking with Torrie (unleashed tuning) and he will be tuning this. Super excited!

Greg Good can get the heads to flow over 330 CFM at .600". Even my local machine shop has gotten 315-320. Get the heads to Greg if you want to make over 625 RWHP. Several stock engines with Greg's combo has put down 620+ RWHP. .

Sell the heads and get Gen IV heads ported by Greg Good, along with a Gen V intake.

Justin has been great throughout the process. He even helped me understand the metrics behind spec'ing a cam. However....apparently Comp Cams can't source cores. My build is ready to be put back together and I'm sitting waiting for Comp. Is 6 weeks a normal timeframe?

I didn't have them on a flow bench, so we will see what happens. Down the road I'd like to engage Greg, I've heard great things.

Well, if budget wasn't an issue...lol yes, I would have done this. I almost had a set of G4 heads + G4 oiling setup for $2500. Got sold right before I was ready to pull the trigger.

Arrow upper lid - not familiar...does this mean the proper intake manifold + the converted cable dual throttlebodies? I'll shoot you a PM.

I'm beyond excited! It's like the day where modding a car in the Gran Turismo video game becomes real life!
