    Ta 2 0

Hey guys first post, long time lurker. I am finally in the market for a gen v! (Finally time to move on from my 03 cobra) I have been been looking for a srt or gts but I came across this yesterday but it seems way to low to me for a ta 2.0. Anyone know the history of this car or why it might be priced so low? https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/link/232220577

Looks like one of the Bondurant race school cars if I'm not mistaken. Just means they were beaten on by other random folks, but fluids and standard maintenance were kept up on. Someone else might be able to confirm based on VIN. On a side note... former 03 DSG Cobra w/ 2.4L Whipple owner here. Trust me you'll love the change!

Also because I'm a founding member of the TA police just know those Bondurant cars are not actual TA 2.0 package cars, they have the 2.0 group. So when you're cross shopping them against real TAs keep that in mind for price (Package cars go for more than group cars).

Did the Bondurant cars have Nappa leather interiors? That would seem strange but I've never seen one up close.

as Ninja and Voice both said, and some other threads in here; it's price is a reflection of its build as a GTC w/ TA2 group option and no or limited other options from the factory, the mileage, and the stigma that has some worried about buying one of the Bondurant cars. Personally, I still think it's priced a bit high in that particular ad, if it were me I'd offer 78k after a thorough inspection if everything checked out to my liking..but that's just my opinion.

Ah thanks I was not sure if it was one of the bondurant cars from the ad. I'm not sure I'd that's a deterrent for me though as I will probably daily my viper and dont care so much on the hard miles, I'll have to think on this one. Appreciate the info guys

Haha what Voice said, the TA is a special edition, that car isn’t one. Also I’d bet money it had paint work done, most of the front bumper/rockers were beat up and then resprayed on those cars. With that being said, as long as you know what you’re getting and that 90% of those miles on the car were at the track, still an awesome car if you can pick it up for the right price, whatever that may be to you.

Priced a bit high based on the mileage , because regardless of what Generation the Viper is, it is a mileage sensitive car like a Ferrari, Lambo, etc. Too many out there with quite low miles, and if the car was a Bondurant car, just like years ago when they were Skip Barber Vipers , pricing will be lower.

Car originally has FCA listed as the seller, and the records now are quite interesting with Dodge as they often list current owners as original owners. Whether it was a Bondurant car for sure could be argued , but when listed with FCA as the original seller it was at least an Executive Car -- which is Automotive speak that it could have been car for promos, magazine articles , Bondurant , test drives, etc.

Against base option cars like the Bondurant cars sure. But many TA/TA2 option cars have MSRPs of 20-25k and more above the package cars, and are 1 of 1's, and as such have shown to have very low turnover (thus minimal basis for your value claims).

Thanks for the info everyone, I think I'm going to pass on that one. I did find a perfectly option gts(minus having that awesome 6 vent hood) with super low miles that's calling my name! https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/link/239943333

Keep in mind there was an across the board price reduction, in 2014, of $15,000 , but many Dealers love to leave this tidbit out, so a more accurate figure of the car's price is around 120K ( that is what it would have been in 2014 ). Looks like all the recalls were done and definitely a nice color combination in my humble opinion.

Definitely a sweet ride and no miles. Love the subtle stripe.

Yea I noticed that in the add to they really like to say how high the MSRP was when most people who are looking for vipers I imagine would know about the price drop

Currently on the hunt for a good tech to do the ppi, I usually do it myself but being my first viper I think I'd rather have a viper pro do it. Anyone got a recomendations?
