    Throttle cable grommet

My newly purchased 1998 GTS left me walking last night. I was out cruising around and on a quick 1-2 shift the throttle pedal went to the floor! I coasted off the road and found the throttle cable had pulled through the firewall. I ended up walking to the local parts store and getting some glue. I superglued it together and realized the cable was adjusted as tight as possible. At WOT the pedal still had a couple inches before it reached the floor. Its properly adjusted now. But I would like to replace the grommet. Is it available separately?

I don't know about now, but in the past the cable and grommet came as a package from Mopar.

Picture is of a throttle cable still in the package. Grommet obviously comes with the cable.

I figured the grommet would be part of the cable. My cable is in great shape. Now that it's properly adjusted and glued together, it will probably be fine. But, I would like to replace it for peace of mind.

    Thanks guys.

Yes I would replace it. Most plastics like that are really not glueable. May hold for a while but will fail again. Plus, how can you say your cable is in great shape? You can't see most of it because the cable is hidden inside by the cable housing / sheath.

Cables typically fray on the exposed ends where they are exposed to the elements and friction in and out of the sheathing. I held the sheathing upright and gravity alone would move the cable. It's smooth so I assume the cable is good inside. But, I still plan on replacing it. Being stranded because of a throttle cable sucks!
