Thread: ECM lockout

    ECM lockout

Hey gang, ‘98 GTS: just installed: plugs and wires and Tony (Armour) Racing) refurbished/cleaned injectors. The car runs fine, just wanted the most out of it. I’m second owner, have had the car 3.5 years.
Called local dyno/tune guy and he said
“ About a month ago Dodge locked out the ECM and we have no way to get in.”
    They were using “Diablo”?
Anybody know of any “lockout” thing and/or the Diablo thing?
Is there any other tunes I can use?
Any way to get around this?

The owner before me kept great records. The last Dynojet tune was back in ‘03. I’m thinking it may be time.

    The records shows:
    Torque: 576 engine (501 RWHP)
    HP: 538 engine (468 RWHP)

    Any help is appreciated
    Thank you in advance.

    Jer’

Never heard of any Dodge lockout, and they can't on the Gen 3 and earlier car. Your tuner is a moron, run from that shop please. Go SCT and talk to Larry Macedo

    At minimum.

But to the contrary, tuners like that are part of the business model for the real Viper tuners. They generate lots of work for them.
