I would like to hire someone to take a look at a 2001 Viper in Pittsburgh area

I would like to hire someone to do a pre-buy on a 2001 Viper that is located at Martin Auto Gallery, 1130 Castle Shannon Blvd, Pittsburgh PA 15234. Martin is the Salesman.

No liability, you are not making guarantees, just tell me what you think.

Not so bad, looking a Vipers, something you like to do anyway, willing to pay for your time.
    Thanks,

I looked at the pics you posted in the other section.

Take the VIN number to your local Dodge dealer and pull the history.

Also, it looks like the center console is busted from weight of an elbow. It happens but it could be a problem if it's not fixable or tears the cover. I"m betting those in the used market are getting pricey.

    Dave,

I need a center console. Where did you find one for $400? Viper store wants 600-700.

    JDDB,
Reach out to Viper Parts Larry (viperpartslarry.com). Believe he is a site sponsor. I bought one from him when I needed it. I believe it was around $450 but that was a couple years ago. He is great to work with.

Thanks Rook. I had seen his website, but he didn't show prices. Glad to know that he is reasonably priced. I will check it out. BTW... is your viper sapphire blue or black?

I am about 5 hours away. The problem is, I do not know much about Vipers, or used cars for that matter. First time purchasing a muscle car. I would feel much better completing the purchase if someone knowledgeable could give me a fair evaluation.

I guess I am going to purchase it blind early next week.

There are a lot of posts on what to look for on the G2 here on this forum. Just do your research and you won’t be blind. Maybe with some serious bifocals, but not blind.

Good luck hope to see you join the club

Have you reached out to anyone in the Western Reserve VOA Club? Lots of owners in that area.

How about a console wedge support? You can still see the crease but the firm support is form-fitted to underside to make it re-shape and rigid again. $119 at PartsRack.com

The support is a great PREVENTATIVE as these cars age and the tranny COOKS the console. If the BIG driver pushes down with an elbow, IT CAN BREAK

Or a Homecoming Queen or teen stands on it? POOF! Install the $119 console wedgie and forgettaboutit
