One quick question, are you going to use a lightweight material?

It is 0.25" thick aluminum... as light as possible while still maintaining the strength needed for this application.

Doug, thank you for the update. How far out is the passenger base and seat sensor?

Passenger seat will come after I confirm the driver side fit so probably August. As kriskyk says (thank you!) the occupancy emulator is ready and I build to order. I plan to list all of this stuff once I have a complete package available.

Was expecting a basic plastic box with a flying lead and instead got a completely finished module housed in some aluminum bling, can be switched on and off capabilities and has a lockout.

Maybe somewhere behind the seat out of sight? Assuming the seat can be slid forward to get to it.

Guess it comes down to how often I'll have a passenger in the car and need to reach the key to turn on/off.

Depending on seat selection and a few other options / factors you can expect to save approximately 28-37 lbs per seat all said and done.
