Tillett B6 Screamer installed

Took the lead from stradman, purchased 2 sizes of the B6 Screamer, the normal size for the driver and XL for the passenger side. The shop only had the XL in stock and I wasn't sure which I preferred and mounted the XL, while waiting for the non-XL to arrive.
Needed seat adjustment and opt for the Tillett sliders(TR1). Note if you use other Tillet seat brackets that mount outward instead of inward, you will likely need the TR2 slider handle to accomodate the extra width.

Didn't have time to do the install and outsourced to my local race shop, who encountered a few quirks. The seat lowering kit mounting on a slant along with the Tillett seat bracket(TBF1) meant a more reclined seating position. Made a few modifications to accomodate my preferred upright seating angle.
1) The front of the B6 seat is angled/beveled and hits the Tillett TBF1 bracket if attempting to use the lower hole positions. Trimmed the front section of the bracket to gain access to the lower hole.
2) Drilled extra hole at the rear of the TBF1 bracket to increase rear mounting height.
Spent 2 track days to get the comfortable with the new arrangement.
The combination above was close but not perfect.
Love the added feedback. Everytime is amplified.
Used the Teamtech bar to secure sub and lap belts.

The non-XL finally arrived decided to swap.

This was a good time to make additional adjustments.
To reduce the angle further, installed 2 10mm spacers to the rear underside of the sliders. This not only got me to my preferred seating position it also provides clearance for the slider to the rear seat post mounted to the body.

The B6 (non-xl) is narrower than the XL by 30mm requiring spacers @ 15mm on each side mounting points with m8(1.25)x40mm 12.9-grade bolts.

There is slight movement side to side originating from the slider, but once strapped in with a harness it's solid.

Waiting for Doug to release his version of the seat base for both sides, along with the passenger sensor termination.

To use factory belts with the B6 and B7 you must route through the opening.

ACR is at the shop getting some work. I'll take some headroom measurements when it comes back. The 20mm spacers decreased headroom.

This was a temporary solution for me, Doug's version looks more rigid and mounting position better suited to the Tillett dimensions.

I'm afraid being 5'8" will not be a good reference for you in terms of headroom. I have a friend who's around 6'3" stocky build with long torso, if I recall, he barely fit in the Viper with the stock seats without a helmet. He recently acquired an ACR-E for the Mrs to track, which I'm sure he would also love drive on track. I will reach out to him to get his thoughts on headroom.

At 6'5", I imagine you're already using a seat lowering kit with the stock seats and positioned farely rearward. Tillett offers other brackets for the B6/B7 that positions the seat lower than the TBF1, the EBF1 being one. It will come down to whether you need the slider/runner and how much seat underside clearance Doug's bracket can provide.

My friend, who's actually 6'6", responded with his observations.
He can fit in the ACR-E with the stock seats without a helmet, head just touches the headliner. With a helmet on has to slouch. In terms of headroom, 3” would be ideal, 2” tolerable and 1.5” minimum.
We’re going to try to meet at my home in the next 2 weeks to determine how well he fits into my current configuration. I'm confident he will clear the 1.5" minimum. If we remove the 20mm spacers at the rear we can gain ~3/4". There is also room to lower the entire seat at the TBF1 bracket. Will update this post with our findings.

The Tillett seats are as thin as it gets so with them mounted at or just above the floor it will be maximum available headroom. For those who don’t need it, a spacer to raise the seat is almost likely a requirement. I plan to offer a few options.

Yes this is where the B6/7 XL (30mm wider) or perhaps the B5 with low sides will come into play headroom aside.

With your 36" waist, don't anticipate you'll have a problem fitting into the XL. I'm 36" waist, ran the XL for 2 track days and never moved around.

Made a few modifications to address the slider binding.

Replaced existing 15mm nylon spacers between the side bracket and seat to 1" depth. Image of driver outboard side.

Adjust bolts that secure the top section of the silder to the side bracket to provide better alignment.
Repositioned the rear seat bolt 1 down to increase tilt. My helmet kept hitting the headrest the last time. Using a level measuring between the front and rear seat bolt, show almost no slope, which should position the rear angle close to original ~60*.

Slider now sits more relaxed and no longer binds. The side to side play was reduced.

You need a base to mount the TBF1 bracket to, the viper seat lowering kit will work. In addition to the seat lowering kit, you will need spacers between the seat and the TBF1 bracket to make up the difference in width.
TKO Motorsports makes a race certified base that may work but must be purchased with their entire harness package.
If you have not purchased the seat lowering kit, wait. Doug from DSE is working on a base. It's more rigid and made from aluminum.
I plan to replace my seat lowering kit with the DSE base once available.
