First Time Viper Owner Driveline backlash

First Viper! Picked up 05, less than 4k miles...everthing original, car in fantastic condition. Previous owner kept a log of usage...

Question for the board...driveline backlash in Gears 1, 2 and 3. Prominent when letting off at very low speeds..driving in parking lot, stop and go traffic, etc...kind of a clunk and lurch feel. I have found some discussion here and in other locations...is this a normal operating characteristic due to my need to improve driving skills or is this a concern?

I feel a little better now. I get a noticeable amount in 1st gear when letting off, and a little bit in second but rarely.

    normal.
when i picked up my Gen IV with 15k miles, i had never heard such backlash in any of my cars before.
then i learned how to drive it and avoid that backlash.
keep in mind that this car has very little insulation, and your ears are next to the differential; sitting adjacent to the trans.
i just had JonB's inexpensive, stronger trans mount installed yesterday. it feels so much better today.
