    Tire Recommendation

Hey guys I ordered some wheels for my Viper 19x10 Front / 20x13 Rear. Not sure of the offsets because they are still building the wheels but they said its going to be flush fitment.
For the rear I'm thinking 325 and front 255. One thing I can't decide is what hight (aspect ratio) of the tire should I go with? Thanks.

Little update for you guys on the Gen V frame swap. Started the assembly already will have most of the body panels installed by the end of the week!

Why tires with a width so much narrower than stock? That would look strange.

For aspect ratio try to keep the overall diameters about the same as stock or you may affect stability control and traction control.

Would get ahold of Tony a Deviate Motorsports ( site sponsor) to make sure you have the right offsets. Have seen a lot of folks send off for rims with companies that really don't know Vipers and they get themselves into a pickle. Heck, hopefully you are already talking to him?!

Alex, stick to 19/19 (19 fronts for bigger brake kits), the rears dont need to go any larger, going 20s limits your choices. Ask me how I know, I regret going 20 rear. Should have learned the first time on my mustang.

Also stock widths are 295, 355. The lowest fronts id go is 285. Rears, 345 is the only option for michelin.

Agreed, I havent worked with Tony, but since he is a Viper guy he knows the size(s) specifically.

Tire choice is a giant stickler on this car. You really need to stick with the stock widths. This car has a very narrow tire selection that shouldve been decided first before even deciding on the wheel specs. Rears need to be 345/355 and there are very few tires in that size. Hence tire selection first wheels second. 255/325 is a disaster waiting to happen. 19/19 is a more ideal size for tire selection

while not ideal. michelin pilot sport 4S, 295/30/19 front 345/30/20 rear. They are going to be taller than stock

Best deal is generally through Jon Brobst at Partsrack 360.837.3937. He can also confirm correct sizing.

Why do you regret going to a 20" rear? What issues did you have specifically?

OP, I have looked into different diameters as well. 19/19 is currently the consensus pick for Gen 5's. 18/18, 18/19, 19/19, 19/20 are all limited by tire selections. In my research, allowing the widest variety of tire selection without giving up too much for width would be to run an 19x12 or 19x12.5 which would give an option to run 325/30/19 or the 345/355 sizes. There are a lot more options for 325/30/19.

I have a set of 20x13 wheels that I am struggling with tire selection as well. I have found the following:

    1. The toyo t1r/nitto invo is available in 345/25/20 but its ~0.5" shorter than stock and not well reviewed on this forum.
    2. 345/30/20 is available in MPSC2's, Pilot Sport 4's, Corsa's (iirc) and MPSS if you can still find them as it seems they are discontinued now. They are taller and may rub, depending on how aggressive "fender flush" is. This size measures about 0.75" taller than stock.
    3. Toyo R888r 325/30/20, according to tire rack, has the same treadwidth as the Pilot Sport 4's but a slightly narrower section width I think. The tires would be a bit stretched on a 13" wheel, but would fit better on a 12 or 12.5" wheel. This size is 0.3" taller, however its slightly narrow.

If you go 255/325 you’re going to be buying tires twice. Once right now and then again in a year after you’ve sat on the car trying to sell it when no one wants to buy a Viper with tires smaller than a Camaro.

Less tire selection, more weight from requiring a bigger wheel and bigger tires. Next time im. Going 19/19

Also my Pilot Sport 4S rubs too, lol. These michelins have a taller offset than the other brands.

These were 19x11 and 20x13, with 295/30/19 and 345/30/20 Michelin PSS tires - taller, but filled out wheel gaps nicely (not lowered):

Thank you for this suggestion. Called Jon 2 days ago. My dealership called now with tires in hand. Took less than 15 minutes to order and get email confirmation. Got TPMS sensors as Jon suggests replacing every 5-6 years. Whole package for $1,700. Great deal.

Those who have gone 285 in front, is there any noticeable understeer?
Main purpose for this question is for a street setup.
