TA 1 0 Splitter Install

I haven’t seen any pictures of an install on the forum, so I’m posting some. I got the splitters from Wayne at Extreme Supercars - xtremesupercarsinc@gmail.com. I pondered the install for a while, but I’m am super glad I went through with it. It’s easy peasy and took me 2 ½ hours from walking into the garage to driving the car. I’m very meticulous and took my time.

Here are some closeups of the splitters. They are xtremely (pun intended) well constructed and come with nice fiberglass templates to show you exactly where to drill the holes (no guessing games). Each splitter requires you to drill 4 holes in the bumper – the thought of drilling holes made me nuts…but oh well...it's done.

You have to remove the front belly pan cover (Torx T27 & T40 needed). Remove the templates from the splitters (10mm socket) and mount the templates up to the bumper.

I used a black sharpe to mark centers of the holes on the bumper then used a scratch awl to punch in a guide dimple so the drill bit doesn’t wander around.

I used a 5/16” brad point drill bit to be precise and to ensure a nice clean hole. Drill your 8 holes and remove the templates.

Fit the splitter up to the bumper to check fitment. Bolt the splitters up from inside the bumper loosely and screw in the T27 torx screw from the wheel well ensuring there is no gap between the splitter and the bumper (see circled area in pic). In my case one of the splitters had a 1/8” gap, so I removed the splitter and elongated the holes in the bumper. I reinstalled and it fit perfectly.

Remove the 10mm bolts and put blue Loctite on them and reinstall. Reinstall the T27 wheel well screw in making sure the splitter is flush to the bumper, then tighten the 10mm.

Replace belly pan cover…done. The template makes all the difference and makes the install fool proof and sanitary. I bought an extra set of rub guards from Wayne as well.
Hope this helps those who wonder about difficulty. After you see this, you think…what the hell did he post this for, it’s so simple. It's one of those things you don't know until you know.

The splitters were $1500. The quality is fantastic, exceeded my expectations (and I'm a picky bastard), and fitment is perfect.

JonB - I bought the high flow cat pipes from you...and having you send them to my buddy to apply a military grade thermal barrier coating to them. I also had the factory resonators and tips coated as well, so the complete system will be done. I will be posting pics and temp measurements of before and after. This coating is supposed to be a 55-60% reduction of heat, compared to a 15-20% reduction from a jethot thermal barrier. The numbers sound a bit optimistic, but we will see.

Anyway, here are more pics of the fitment and ground clearance.

Looks great. One suggestion, I highly recommend you put a paint protection film on them. The ones on my TA after 20k miles are beat to hell from rocks, at some point I will need to remove them and have the clear coat redone.

I'm looking to adding front splitters, I currently have an OEM T/A rear spoiler do the Extremesupercar ones look like OEM weave wise? They look so from the photos.

Great question. Here you go... The only thing I don't know is if the OEM mounting holes are in the same position as the Xtremes. Worst comes to worse, you can drill new holes...you won't see them anyway.

There was a PPF thread a week or two ago if you want to do some in depth reading, but for small pieces like this where you're not overly concerned about how a film will change the appearance of the splitter below I don't think it would matter.

Funny I’m also in CT and literally have the exact same car white SRT with the black TA wheels and now both front splitters and rear wing. Also Belanger high flo cats and mufflers Where in CT are you?

Just following up for the folks that worry about bottoming out with the front spoilers. I had these on for several months, 800 miles, and never bottomed out on anything. I live in New England where there's dips, valleys, hills all sorts of potential issues and had no problems. The only caution I take is to avoid speed bumps.
