Help How long do you get from your slicks

Hi guys, going to a 4 day track event in about 10 days. Its not racing but just HPD with some buddies(with some serious toys!) on track. Its fairly casual with lots of breaks and usually do 25-30 minute sessions at a time max, maybe 5 sessions in morning and 5-6 in the afternoon. I'm certainly not a pro and very much a rank amateur however I give it as much stick as I can! So how many sets of slicks would you say I would need for those 4 days?? I've currently got 2 sets of Pirelli DH slicks at the moment.
    Many thanks guys

2 sets should be fine, especially for an HPDE.

The Pirelli's last forever. When I ran them I never corded a set, they will become so slow you won't want to use them long before they cord.
What size fronts did you get?

Just so I am seeing this right FIVE 25-30 minute SESSIONS each morning and the same every afternoon for 4 days? Or 5 sessions for the whole day? I run slicks 10-12 sessions total usually, 15 at the most. Cable is spot on with the Pirelli's. Never cord. I just can't stand how slow they get. So I would have 4 fresh sets with me if I were going to run 11 sessions per day.

also no more than 30 hot. 32 MAX. I start these around 18-19psi and like to end up 28 hot. For you I'd start at 25psi, then check the pressures in the hot pits. If you start getting fast with the car you will need to start much lower. Be very careful until they get warmed up.

I am sure it must be 5-6 sessions per day. 5 Hrs of running a car for 4 days would be a lot. if it is have fun sounds like it will be a great time.

tires and brakes are very dependent on driver and times. 1 sec. a lap faster will go through a lot more tires and brakes. with all the mods to stradman's car over the winter the tire bill and brakes has just increased 2 fold :-) I like when someone else gets to feel our pain.

Ok got it. Thanks. If Pirellis get slow then what is the brand of slick you use?

I'm sure you're right about that! Everything will wear out that much quicker!

The Pirelli's don't get any slower than any other tire, we are just saying they last so long they will get to slow to use before they cord, same with the Michelins. The Hoosiers will cord before they get too slow to use.

Not very often, but I only do 6 laps a weekend. 3 per day. LOL. I'm only on track for a fast time, not for seat time.

Also forgot to ask do you change all 4 slicks when they've lost grip or is it a case of front going off quicker than rears?

I change them all out. You will know when it's time. There's no mistaking it. The car starts moving around a lot more. More wheel spin off corner. More understeer and oversteer everywhere. They are different than Hoosiers. On those I am changing the left front since our tracks are mostly clockwise. With the slicks they have tread they just don't have any grip. That's all relative BTW. They have some grip, just not that serious grip you get addicted to.

Would DHC front & DH rears be ok?

    I was thinking 325 660 18 front & 325 705 18 rears.

Todd at GT racing said the 325 660 18 are DHC's.

The 660's are a little tall for the front, I had issues a couple times at the track with them. The 650's are closer to stock front height to keep front and rear difference closer.
The 660 is 26" tall. The 650 is 25.6" tall
