    Seat belt friction tongue

My Gen 2 seat belts have a friction tongue so the lap belt can be tightened and hold you in place. My Gen 4 has simpler slide through tongues that do not tighten. Anybody ever find a tongue or system that tightens the Gen 4 lap belt section?

I commute 52 miles each way and would like something tighter than OEM but not as restrictive or complicated as the 5pt that's also in the car. TII.

Seat belt should lock if you pull it all the way out. You should hear the locking mechanism as you feed the belt back in and tighten to your comfort. You'll have to then release the buckle and feed all of the belt back for it to function as an inertia belt again.

Good to know. The previously installed 5pt shoulder belts or back panel might be causing some friction with the OEM roll up belt because it doesn't always smoothly retract. I'll play with it. Thanks.

If that's the case, this seat belt clip will suit your needs in holding the lap belt portion still.

Here is a product that was made for HPDE drivers using OEM 3-points.

11sec4cyl, mine doesn't ratchet back; once it releases the lock, it stays released. The friction was a fold in the shoulder belt near the end of the total extension, so at least it fixed one thing. I have several of those clips from past 5pt installations and will pull them out.
AZTVR, that is perfect... and out of stock. But I'll look further, thank you both.

You're welcome. Glad the friction piece has been resolved. Simple enough with pulling the belt out all the way to straighten.
