    Clutch fluid moisture

I seem to build up moisture in my clutch fluid very rapidly and wanted to see if anyone had ideas.

I went to the track last October and tested for moisture content afterwards. It was 4% which was weird because I changed it a year before.

Anyway, I bled the system and tested it after a drive. It was at 0%. Here we are 5 months later (with very little driving) and it's reading 1% already.

Is this normal on these cars? My daily driver is 5+ years on the original fluid and still reads at 0%.

Are you running something like a racing fluid like Motul600? I have been told that the high temp fluids pick up moisture faster than the lower temp fluids do therefore require more frequent changes. Daily drivers don’t use high temp fluid normally.

Nope. Just OEM DOT4 brake fluid.

Clutch fluid sees a lot of heat and there is a small amount of fluid so moisture happens quickly, I would flush after every other oil change or once a year.

Yep, what Mark said. I use a vacuum and change it every time I change the oil.
