"Latest Clutch Options From Bad Boyzz Garage for Your Dodge Viper - Buyers Guide"
I'm Todd Gomez owner-operator of Bad Boyzz Garage and would like to formerly introduce myself to the Viper Owners Association's members, enthusiasts and viewing Viper owners. I'd like to create a Viper owners "Go-to-Buyers Guide" for all clutch options we've developed and engineered for all model year Vipers. We at Bad Boyzz Garage (BBG) have been building our Twin Disc Clutch Kits for the Viper since 2006' when purchasing a new SRT Viper Coupe and quickly realized Dodge had not improved upon or fixed Viper's clutch issues for their track inspired Coupe, which was built basically as SRT's first club racer. So I went to work in my Garage with my partners at RAM and started our BBG Viper program. With the introduction of Vipers hard top and current G4/G5 power plants, clutch technology has never been more important to Viper.
Chrysler partnered up with us back in 2009'-2010' when I approached them to develop and build headers for their new ACR-X race program, which set the stage to introduce our clutch technology to SRT engineering. After some serious R&D and destruction testing with Chrysler, SRT Motorsport's (formerly DMS Racing) Dick Winkles, Matt Bejnarowicz and Gary Johnson approved BBG as the official clutch manufacturer and clutch service center for the Dodge Viper Cup Race Series, the ACR-X Clutch Kit was born! This provided us a platform to prove our motorsports performance capabilities to Chrysler and gain the confidence of the Viper Nation. During this period we were asked by SRT's Dick Winkles to build prototype billet flywheels for the new G5 Viper development program, which now run a BBG inspired factory installed aluminum flywheel. Another opportunity developed with Mopar Performance who inlisted BBG in 2012' to engineer and prototype a competition clutch kit for powertrain development and evaluation testing for a future high performance Challenger platform (The Hell Cat). We learned alot working directly with Chrysler on these projects and can proudly say, our BBG clutch kits passed every factory destruction test Chrysler ran them through!
Our clutch kits ran a 7:03 in a Kuno Wittmer piloted ACR-X at Nurburgring and raced the Targa Newfoundland with Ralph Gilles in his factory prepped ACR-X and have tasted the asphalt at many top US road courses and abroad Internationally by our growing customer base.
BBG clutch kits are available for many applications, like our Pro-series road race "Ultra Light 7.25" Triple Disc Assault Weapon" to our "Forced Induction 10.5" Triple Disc G5 Race Kits" all with our light pedal action technology engineered into every system. We've learned a lot over the years working with our diverse customer base in the motorsports industry from team owners, crew chiefs, manufacturer and the privateer who consider BBG as the go-to company for technical advise, application specialist and for correct fitment. We specialize and manufacture other Viper products and will start additional tech threads moving forward.
First on the list for "Bad Boyzz Garage Go-to-Clutch - Buyers Guide" is our G5 OE Replacement Kit. This clutch was developed and introduced to Chrysler at a Daytona Viper Cup race and made quite an impression with SRT which moved the G5 aluminum flywheel talks forward. On final development SRT was most helpful to us knowing that G5 customers were going to start tracking their Vipers and a good clutch kit was needed.. With confidence in BBG, SRT said yes!
Our goal is to keep this thread a True-Buyers Guide for Viper owners who are looking for technical advise and data, specific applications, correct fitment and to ask questions when considering options during your decision and purchasing process and who are highly considering running a BBG clutch kit. So "No High Jacking of this Thread will Be Allowed" with do respect.
