    Mid winter interior upgrades

It's been a Long cold winter this year.

What better time to do a little project I've been thinking about for awhile.

I wanted the viper interior to have some more pop, like my vette 3LT interior (black and adrenaline red)

I used SEM product and followed their process to a T using all their products.

Colour added. I chose a red that was more red than orange. I wasn't trying to make a Mamba clone, just wanted some more pop to the interior.

    Also added:

ACR low shift knob with red stitching
Shifter boot and brake handle boot with red stitching.
New steering wheel with red stitching. (I will get it installed this week)
And new seats with red stitching.

That looks great. It ads a lot of pop to an already nice Viper, but those subtle touches really finish out the job.

    SEM soap
    Plastic and leather prep
Sand free for some parts and adhesion promoter on others (depending on material type)
    Vinyl coat (colour).

I used Formula Boats Red. These products are made for changing colour or restoring boat seats.

    Ordered from a local dealer.

It was a relatively easy project. The hardest part was seperating the door panels into their two parts for painting, then re stapling/screwing the parts back together. But that was the only way to get it right and make sure the colour coat goes around all corners.

What/how did you staple the door panels back together? Looks to be VERY difficult?
    Thanks

Used a few bent staples in their old holes to get everything plumb.

Then about 10 small self tapping screws. Then pull the staples (used for alignment) out.

New steering wheel is on. I was able to get it off without a puller.

Gave the horn pad Fangs a little red eye, bloody fang treatment.

On the backside of the centre arm rest lid I dragged a flat screwdriver up and down with hard pressure, took a lot to get it to even mark, didn't go through colour.

Looks good!!! Typically this type of stuff turns out tacky but you nailed it.

Thanks! I agree with the typical tacky outcome. I've seen some interiors that were ruined by the owner attempting a major colour change.

The prep is everything as is using top tier products and following their step by steps.

One suggestion if your looking for any other ideas. I just saw an amazingly done wrap on the waterfall area with a leather or leather like material and for you consider red stiching. I saw a wide body vert car at our VOA winterfest party and I cannot say enough on how dodge should have done this. I think that would nail your interior! It just would take the plastic look away as the waterfall is so big and such an eye catcher. I wish I had good pics of that interior but you can try and contact Autoform if you want more information. It was the grey blue vert that is on their website.

Nice job and just offering a suggestion if you want to go further.
