    O2 sensor half cycle counter

Had the battery disconnected for a while and am trying to get all the odb2 tests ready. Right now there are 2 failing: $11: O2 Sensor 1/1 Half-Cycle counter and $31: O2 Sensor 2/1 Half-Cycle counter. I assume that 1/1 and 2/1 are referring to bank 1, front sensor and bank 2 front sensor? Any suggestions for how to get the half-cycle counter to increase? Driving around at highway speed didn't help.

    Thanks

You have to complete at least one full drive cycle. Driving around on the highway does not constitute a drive cycle at all.

Understood. I've been trying to drive the cycle, but the half-cycle counter seems stuck at 40 and the test says it needs a minimum of 80. I'm not sure which part of the cycle I need to repeat to increase the counter, or if this means I have a failing O2 sensor or some other issue. I've got no CEL and no pending codes.

Just in case anyone else searches on this term, the O2 sensor half-cycle counter does not factor in to the Texas state inspection ODB scan. I took the car in anticipating have to go the low-mileage waiver route per the other thread and it passed.

Per the ODB2 app on my phone (Torque), the below tests were either failed or not yet completed and thus are not used in the state inspection scan.
    $11 - Failed
    $15 - Not run
    $21 - Not run
    $31 - Failed
    $41 - Not Run
    $51 - Failed
    $53 - Not Run
    $62 - Failed
