    Snake pit at Chuckwalla

We had 5 Viper's at Chuckwalla this weekend Feb 16-17th with Nasa. This was a combined region event, So Cal and Arizona so there was a ton of cars, I'd say around 250-300.
There's 4 in the pics below but there was another Gen 3 with aero there the guy came all the way from Idaho!
This was my first time with the cage/halo seat/hans, I felt safe but man does it sucks driving with all that crap in your way LOL. Getting in the car and buckled up is now a 10 minute affair.
You can see my new headlight blanks that Pappy built for me in the pics below. They held up at 150mph no issues!
The 9 liter ran great, Car went 1.51 flat CW and 1.51.616 CCW, fastest times of any car there for the weekend. TTU record there is 1:49.395 by a Radical, so will have to try next year.
The Gen 2 is a member on here, NRS1, the blue ACR is stock, the Gen 3 has Hennessy heads/cam. Fun weekend!

Car looks bad ass and that time CW is crazy fast. Faster than every time set by Jason Pridmore on multiple bikes that I can see. Faster than any time put down by Randy Pobst in anything he ever drove there that I can find.

    Nice Job!! Great result!!

Thanks! Yeah I don't think anything with doors on it has gone that fast. Next year I will get that 1.49.3 mark my words! Dunno how, but I'll find a way! CW I was 16 seconds faster than that ACR and he was on A7's.

Wow, and Jason was no joke, being an AMA National Champion and all. He holds the motorcycle lap record at many tracks. So, you are absolutely flying to beat those times. Great job!!!

Ok, still snowing here in Nebraska, we have around 10 inches on the ground and you post pictures of Snakes Chuckawalling , yet..........................................no videos of track time. This is my vicarious Racing Season , where I survive Cabin Fever by viewing Snakes slithering around road courses , yet this post only has stills. Sure you had fun, but time to help your snowbound buddies , get some racing videos up for us to enjoy so we can armchair race with you?!

Well that's how we feel about you guys during summer here. lol. We do early track days in the summer, from 5am to 9am and it's already 90* by 9. No videos from this weekend, when they did my cage they pulled the wiring for my smarty cam from my aim dash, so I've got to dig those out. You can see some of my other videos here- https://www.youtube.com/user/6Mdkp/v...w=0&shelf_id=0 including a 1.54 in my stock ACR last year.

Way cool , fun to watch on those tracks as I have friends who run Wild Horse Pass, Chuckwalla and COTA. Actually enjoyed the Chuckwalla runs the most because so often when watching videos of the track it appears many are not attacking the course or setting up the twisty sections properly --- you flat lay it down and kick some Asp!!

I have thought of wandering down your way next year , just so I can get in a race early in the year, but this year it is just a situation of getting some weight out of the beast.

    Thanks , made my day.

Awesome pics! I miss that track. So glad you put some times down and figured out what the record is. I've had this lap time and pic on my phone for years and I didn't know how fast it really was. When Chris Winkler drove my car there, on a bad alignment and very little track time/experience at Chuckwalla he laid down a 151.45 on his second lap with traffic on the CCW. There is definitely a lot more in the car, I'm sure of it. I was sitting passenger too!

I was part of that "traffic." Chris rolled on past me in your car just before turn 8, and it was exciting to watch. That was 3 years ago and most of us had never seen a Gen V ACR. I think that there were six at that event - three private cars and 3 press cars. Your was, and still is my favourite colour combo, and with the heads/cam it sounded amazing and was notably faster than the other Gen V's. Glad to know that you still have it.

Don't sell yourself short AZVipers, a friend of mine who runs a quick Boss 320S says you are one very, very quick shoe!!! We always forget that a track can change one day to the next , so comparisons really are not on equal footing. One of the last events we had with NASA , at Hastings , saw folks running 3 seconds slower than just a few weeks prior. Chris is truly remarkable , but from what I have heard you are no slouch , and setting track records says a lot , because there are plenty of fast folks in the Southwest and West!!

Just and old Viper Owner's humble opinion!

Agreed on track conditions changing, everyone was saying the track was about 1.5 seconds slow. A few guys brought new tires and went for track records, I don't think any succeeded. What color is your buddy's Mustang? I'm sure I've seen him around.

His name is Drew , and he ran a red Boss 302S last year ( ST2/TT2 ), but he has changed the paint livery to mainly white with red on the back quarters. Even said you were a really nice guy, and I had no doubt since you are a VOA Member and fellow Viper Trackraticus, ha!!

Seen some cool videos he has posted from tracks in your area, look forward to seeing some of the Snake slithering around the Southwest in the future!?

Thanks , we have 10 inches of snow on top of 4 already , so I am vicariously racing with you two watching this video. That slight blur at the 5 minute mark, that was me passing both of you .........er.................in my mind, and one has to wonder about that since I am an AARP member, ha.

I have the same situation in my Boss 302S when Vipers go by me, but then it just causes me to smile. Drew does hang in there pretty well, and great to watch a couple of guys who rock and roll at Chuck and Wally's!
