Awesome David. I'm going to have to pick your brain one of these days in getting my car in order.

Thought I would share a couple of articles about the ACR-FX I plan to run the 250 MPH in if all goes as planned ( does it ever? ). These are just some test runs with totally stock motor, trans, diff, etc so don't expect any big speeds. Motor work will start soon and I hope that within the year we are back out there making another attempt at some big numbers. Anyone interested in running please let me know and I can go over details of what it costs, safety, badging, etc

Just an update on Scott and his leukemia, he went in the hospital for his stem cell transplant a few days after his bucket list 200 plus MPH run on the space shuttle runway. He got to come home on Saturday April 6th and all signs so far have been very positive. White blood cell counts are up, ANC counts are up all great moves in the right direction. He even says his energy levels are coming back. He's looking forward to getting back to a normal life and I'm looking forward to his help on the 250 MPH attempt in the future. Here's his certificate, decal and patch from his run, I should have a video of his run soon and I will post that when I get it.

Going to go late this year I hope and work on that 250 MPH number if I get all the motor work done in time. We will run 2.3 miles which should be enough, bring that RTTLSNK down and lets have some fun.

Nice speed, I assume that was all motor? Where did you do that at?

Is this an open event or invite only?

Anyone can go as long as you can get thru background check, which really isn't a big deal. Then your car has to pass tech inspection regarding brakes, tires, no leaks, etc which is normal for any high speed event. You can bring one guest, 2 cars and you are out there from about 0700 to 1700 running 1/2 mile, 1 mile and 2.3 miles. It's an amazing place, smoothest exterior concrete surface in the world, 100 yards wide and 3.3 miles long, on top of the fact it's where the space shuttles landed! If you want to know more about it just google Johnny Bohmer Proving Grounds or pm me anytime. David

I got the video for Scott's 202 MPH mile run and thought I would share it with everyone. He received his stem cell transplant a few days after this video was shot and he's doing great so far. He's out of the hospital but has to stay away from the general public for a few months just due to the risk associated with lower white cell counts. We plan on some major mods to an engine as this year progresses and heading back out there within a year for me to make that 250 MPH attempt. Thanks Mike and Bart for the block and crank, looking forward making those components a part of this attempt.

Here is a link to a run I made a few days back, it shows just how long I am at WOT. There were some wicked crosswinds so the car was dancing a bit.

LOL, yea it's a bit like watching the original Blair Witch Project. I had 2 other cameras in the car put in by professionals so some better video is coming once all the editing is done.

Awesome stuff, digging the Scotty video!

JBR follows me on Instagram, that's the stuff of dreams right there! To go WOT on a airport runway seems like an experience!

I've done 160mph at Mid-Ohio a couple of times but don't have enough brake to sustain that every lap.

It always seems like it's over quick when you are in the car doing the run but watching the video afterwards seems to take forever. Scotty will be doing another 1 mile attempt late this year if everything comes together and I will make an attempt at a big speed on the 2.3 or 2.7 mile run, I feel like I may need to add a chute for these runs.

That's impressive on a road course, I assume you are top of 4th for that speed? It's a lot easier to stop the car in the mile run than it is for the 2.3 or 2.7 mile runs. I went off the end once after a 235 + MPH run but it wasn't that far off and very little damage to the car. I will say it was quite the ride and I knew it was a big speed when the needle disappeared on the speedometer.

Here's an article and video on my ACR-FX that shows the upside of having a fire suppression system in your car. I will say the system worked exactly as it was suppose to and since the bottles had reached expiration date it was the right time to test.

I'm making some progress toward the run scheduled for later this year. I decided the ACR-FX would require more work than I was willing to spend so I found another Viper to purchase that had some serious mods already. I'm having a cage installed, new brakes, fire suppression for cockpit and engine compartment, 200/300 parachute, and plenty of other work to make sure I reach my goal safely. We should have about 1650 or so RWHP by the time we finish although the car wasn't too far from that when I bought it. The list of mods I'm doing/planning are mostly to ensure that at 250 plus I'm as safe as you can be at that speed. We are going thru everything on the car to make sure that those components are as ready as they possibly can be. Transmission is pulled and will be rebuilt with new 5th/6th gear ratios, clutch is being pulled and inspected, new explosion proof bellhousing will be installed, new LSD and differential gear ratio will be installed, lots of other smaller mods to make the car safer and faster. It's coming along and if all goes as planned it will be completed later this year and ready to run. Here's a few pics of the cage work that is about to wrap up.

The welds on that cage are beautiful. Nice work! Of course, I hope you don't ever need it. Keep us updated with your build and eventual speeds.

Thanks, the guys are doing a fantastic job with the cage, welds are so beautiful I almost hate to cover them with paint. Definitely hope I never need it but I believe in being prepared. I think we are going to add a lexan bulkhead between the dry sump oil tank and drivers compartment just to increase the safety a bit. The fire suppression system is going in this week, it's both automatic and manual pull. New Tillett drivers seat arrives today sometime and the final part of the cage can be welded in after it's positioned. Then it's paint and reassembly of the interior. After that it's on to the mechanical improvements and some test and tune with lots of dyno time. I will keep posting pictures as it's put back together along with some of the updates we have planned. The first time I ran 200 I was on a high for weeks, then that wore off and I went looking for that feeling again, 205......215...….228...….232...….and eventually 235 MPH, and every time I reached a new goal the high wore off quicker. Kind of made me understand what an addiction feels like, but this is probably going to be the last one. Each MPH is costing more and more and I'm sure at some point my brain is going to point out to the rest of me that this is getting a bit insane. Although I think that the Viper is aero capable of 275 MPH with some minor body mods...……….

I will say there is nothing like the sound of that big V10 at WOT, I will take that over the stereo any time. I'm guessing your 150 was about the top of 4th?
