    Orange TA for sale

For sale: 2014 Orange TA #28.
    $105,000

Around 10,750 miles(still drive it a little when sun is out). 1 of 1 ghost snakeskin stripes on the hood. Meticulously maintained. I am second owner. 1st owner has amazing reputation within viper community and I have tons of documentation from build to current. Car can be found on the NVE3 poster. Passed all recalls and doesn’t consume oil (I check at every gas fill up) I recently had full paint correction and ceramic coating on entire car. Has Xpel on front bumper, partial hood, mirrors, side sills.

Don’t have to sell. There is another opportunity that has presented itself and is the only reason I’m listing. Reach out with any questions I’m an open book. (Moderators if this isn’t in the correct place just let me know)

Nope stock height. Thought about the lowering caps but didn’t wanna risk scraping coming in and out of the driveway (has a bit of slope to it)

Does have some minor but tactful changes like black lug nuts, paint matches “SRT” on the wheel and paint matched Stryker logo on a blacked out center cap. Makes the whole wheel/tire area look cleaner and flow better IMO.

I would prefer decals also, but since it said ghost stripes I assumed it might be painted? Either way, imagine it will sell, since there are likely many folks who like the stripes regardless of how applied.

He posted it on facebook that the stripes are painted on by Prefix I believe. I think he said 1 of 1.

Not likely to be a real 1 of 1 , as not listed on the window sticker, but pretty damn cool if Prefix painted it , as that would mean it was blended into the paint. One of the big pluses with the Gen Vs was the painted stripes being flush and not over the top of the base paint like in previous models - imho.

I can only cringe now at what I traded in my pristine orange TA for (1700 miles on it) a few years back if this goes for anything near asking price.

The Markets have changed for many Viper models since the discontinuation , and many of us will feel like maybe we should have kept a model or two? But then , it is often akin to trying to guess what the stock market will do , and we all know that is virtually impossible to be correct even part of the time. I am pretty sure there are a Legion of folks super envious of you, Jon, as you have a special, killer ACR-E , and they seem to be on track to have a similar upswing ( to TAs and others) in the coming years? Overall the Viper prices seem quite stable and almost all models/ variations have risen a bit -- some more than others. With such low numbers , one has to believe it will be a relatively inexpensive Hot Rod to own , as not much downside seen by many of the major collectors or Performance Auction Companies.

Good time to be a Viper owner, one would think?

Stripes are painted by prefix. I say 1 of 1 not in the sense of the GTC 1 of 1 program but in the sense this is the only TA that has been painted with these stripes. I imagine someone could go to prefix and try to have similar ones made but I’m unsure how they could be replicated. Great questions though!

Viperjon, can’t look at it that way bud. You have to look at it like you have enjoyed your current viper for the past few years instead. Already have two offers on the table very near asking. Luckily both fellas are open to giving me until Sunday to decide whether to accept or not.

I have had a lot of Vipers over the years and the only one I regretted selling almost right away was the Orange TA. I traded it in for a bare bones 2016 ACR-E (tri-color model) at the time because I just wanted to get the "best" out there but the TA was the one I should have kept. Loved the color, the manners and the track/street capabilities.

    Good luck with sale SirHiss...

It will be interesting to follow this sale as it has been modified from what would be standard TA' specs. Not really easily reversible and curious about how the market feels about it

Any modifications that the owner wants is subjective since its their car but often it can reduce the pool of buyers. Of course...it only takes 1 serious buyer to get it done

While I really like stripes on Vipers, I cant get past why they don't continue over the roof. Stripes should flow through the car and stopping like they do, make them look a bit like an afterthought in my opinion.

Sure understand your thoughts ViperJon, as I still see my 08 ACR on this Forum, and of all the Vipers I owned I still have regrets in selling it. I believe your feelings are shared with virtually all of us at one time in our lives , and my biggest regret will always be not buying one of the 20 ACR Convertibles Dodge did for Woodhouse! Oh, well, at least we both have nice Snakes in our garage , whereas many others just find that space occupied by a thrilling piece of machinery like a Prius, ha.

I actually am happy they end on the hood. Specifically for the reason you mentioned. If anything extra thought as opposed to afterthought. If someone doesn’t like them a hood is easily replaceable. I have actually seen a few instances in the past where folks have found people that like a specific stripe or design and have traded a stock hood plus cash for the painted hood. If it were extended over the entire car the ease of returning to truly stock goes away completely as you can’t replace the roof etc.

Fortunately though, the vast majority of folks I have met that have seen the car actually love the stripes. I’d estimate maybe 1 out of every 10 or 15 people dislike them.

Good luck with the sale. Personally I love the stripes, I've always loved striped Vipers. I put white decal fang stripes on my 15 Comp Blue TA 2.0 and they looked great. Traded the car for my ACR/TA but the new owner still has the stripes on. They've held up. Having said that though I would have continued your stripes over the roof and trunk. I don't believe they would hurt resale.

If you like the way it looks and works for a possible change over....that's all that matters.

Sounds like you may have the car sold already. Hope you get really close to asking. It's about time these cars sell for what they are worth and it would be refreshing to get a thread showing just that as opposed to people low balling the values

I say don't sell....you'll just end up looking for what you already have. Find a way to keep it.

In any event, best of luck with the sale. Hope you get your asking price.
