    Here's a 1.26 on my 10th lap ever on the track- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55OsWIrHGwM
I went 1.25.8 with traffic the next session, but my Smarty Cam only recorded my trip to the grid. I was getting faster, but left after that session, had a long drive home.

Nice driving! What camera setup is that? Were you the guy with the black trailer and lifted Chevy? I came over a couple times to talk with you but you weren't around. I left you alone while you were unloading etc.

Great time for your first time there Arizona! What can you share about the car’s spec?

Great driving Arizona. Left foot braking? Does the display panel on the center vent hinder the vision of the hood line, especially the right side?

Looking good guys! Thanks for sharing your videos. I'm pretty much a newbie @ Willow myself, can't wait to go back!

I do indeed do some left foot braking at times, mostly when there is a car in front of me that I'm trying to overtake. No the AIM dash doesn't get in the way of my vision. This is the one I'm using- https://www.aim-sportline.com/en/pro...-1.2/index.htm I still use my factory dash for tachometer for shifting, I'm using the AIM mostly for predictive lap time and warning lights based on oil/coolant temps, oil pressure etc.

Hey buddy, thanks for posting!!! But, its so hard to see your lines and the track!!! I gotta get you a better location so I can see the track more!

I'll post the only video I have from Sunday afternoon, stuck behind that yellow Z-06 who had good power and did his best to block me. I finally backed off and ran a couple of laps with Peter. Peter said the guy did that to him earlier.

I was up with Dan yesterday, he's working on my fuel pick-up issue. The car starves on sweepers like after #2 and #8-9 if I'm at less than 60% full. In the last session vs. that vette, and later when I was trying to run with Peter I really felt my power start to drop off. At the track we checked plugs, air cleaner etc., but nothing. The Motec shows that air intake temps were running well over 200 and Dan figures the sensor is bad and it was pulling a bunch of timing.

I couldn't get the timer to work on my dash but when we looked at data I was running high 28's at best. Interesting, my best calculated time (fastest each sector) calculated to 125.266 Take care and hope to catch up again soon!!! Mike

I had the same problems with a white/blue/red comp coupe. He was fast, but right after the lap in that video he held me up for two laps, I just quit and pulled off. When someone is on your ass for two laps, it means they are faster. In 4 years of tracking I've only been blocked in like that twice. If I see ANYONE on my ass EVER in the turns I always immediately point them by and follow. I don't care if it's a Miata, Mustang, Honda..
After watching my video I need to move my camera, LOL, I put it dead middle where the cage bar is like a dumbass. I need to move it to the right a bit.
My line is EXACTLY like Pobst videos with the ZR1 and 720s. Watching most of the guys when I was there seemed like everyone I saw was taking more of an outside line, I was taking a very close inside line. Instead of hitting every apex perfectly, I was just trying to shorten the track. We are all missing time on turn 8 we should be 145-150 through all of 8 on Hoosiers/Slicks. I was low 120's lol. Watch the Pobst ZR1/720s he's 135 all through 8 on street tires and less aero. I wish the Winkler track record video showed MPH, but it doesn't.

    Hey Arizona,

Thanks! I am running the Waylens Horizon cam. The camera itself is pretty sick! Comes with an OBD-2 BT transmitter and a "bookmark" button to mark a reference that you can easily revisit on the software. Unfortunately the PC software is garbage (dont know about Mac), haven't played much with the Android App yet...

I was not there on Saturday, but I showed up on Sunday with a "modified" U-haul trailer. I can post pics showing the engineering necessities to get a Viper on it! I had the #13 Silver ACR.

In terms of the track, this was my first day not only at Willow Springs with the Viper, but also with Hoosier R7s. And boy was there a learning curve there! My first attempt at turn 8 (after warming everything up) was at 90mph and that was FAST (for now.. ). But then after a few lapsI was managing turn 8 in the low 120's. After looking at my videos, I agree with you guys that we should be in the mid 130s.

All in all a really fun day! If you guys want more race days, I run with Speed Ventures here in Southern California and try to go out on track at least once a month (maybe more now that I received my trailer). I can let you guys know in advance when I head out for a track day for any who want to join.

Yeah we missed each other then! I left after 3rd session Saturday. And yeah, my first session I thought I was doing like 140 through turn 8, I looked at my speedo and was under 100 lmao.
I'll be doing Buttonwillow with Nasa April 6-7, I think Catwood is bringing his Panoz. CW13 Sat, CCW13 Sun. It will be my first time there as well.

AZ, that multi colored CC was Donald Greenberg (dad has the yellow stacker and 3 vipers). He's pretty quick and an X-Narra racer so maybe he was in race mode with you? I ran 3-4 fast fun laps with him early Sunday till the motor coughed from low fuel in turn 9.

On the second lap behind the vette I was flashing my lights in the corners and entering the back and front straights but he didn't see or didn't care. I finally backed off and waited for Peter to come around.

I looked again at your video, you lifted going into #8. I'm 145 plus there and maintain throttle although the turn scrubs off some speed. After turn #5 I look at my speedo before the hill and saw a similar mph to you so you're giving up 10 mph on entry speed in #8. The one area where I do see you gap me is turn #3. I go much deeper before the turn, you take the faster line on the inside but that off camber makes me nervous since if falls off camber left to right.

Yeah, I couldn't make it Saturday.

HAHAHA!!! Yup... I felt like Speed Racer until I looked at my speedo (which is a major flaw of mine - I need to stop looking and start feeling).

Buttonwillow! Oh nice! I will try and make that. Work my send me overseas. I have raced that track in an Infiniti G37s and a 680RWHP Cadillac CTSV, but not in the Viper. Its a fun track, for lighter cars.

Yeah no biggie, it's all good.
And yeah i was losing time everywhere on there, it was my 10th lap. It takes me about 30 to get my braking zones perfected.

Hey AZ. Nice driving. Did 9.0 behave well throughout? I was looking at top speed on the final straight and saw you managed a 155mph. I presume there may have been a bit more had you come out of the turn a bit faster? I was looking at Randy's speed in the GT2RS and he managed 162mph(bloody 720s went 169mph!) Were you running slicks? I presume if so then as you didn't know circuit very well there must have been a lot more on the table right? Good effort though...

Yeah would be braking way later if I had another session or two, plus I was shifting like a grandma. A 9.0 Viper wouldn't stand a chance on a straight with a 720s IMO, even shifting fast, especially with ACR aero drag.

AZ, here's the only video I have, being blocked by a Corvette!! Peter said he had good power and my IAT's were off the charts and later in that session I tried to run with Peter but the car was way off. Take a look at the corners, I'm on top of this guy and he won't lift. On the second lap I kept flashing my lights but he either didn't see them or didn't care. (Sorry for the poor audio!!)

Yeah. Guys like this think they are staying ahead of you and wont let you by. They don't realize the only reason they are staying ahead is because you have to slow down to not hit them.

That is so annoying when people do that! I suppose thats why they call it a Gentleman's Pass... Most people dont realize you aren't racing them, but you are racing the clock. As frustrating as it is, I enjoy putting the pressure on them, because at some point, they either spin out, or have a REALLY close call and freak out. Once they "regain" control, you have a beautiful passing opportunity... LOL!!

KoKo yeah but when you’re running in the red group there’s no excuses. I’m flashing headlights during 2nd lap and he won’t lift. Last time that happened at Willow there was a guy with an 800 hp cobra. To pass either you have to dive bomb into 1, 3 or 8 or go around after 2 or 8. In all cases you’re both going really fast and if the guys a dick no telling what could happen when you try to pass??

To your 2nd point, I have a bunch of videos showing a guy in front of me getting squirrelly in front of me. Vipers close really fast compared to many cars at the track. If I don’t know the guy in front of me I generally keep my distance as I’ve seen a few spin trying to keep me behind

RedTanRT/10, that is very true. There is never an excuse. If someone is faster, let them by. In the end they are just hurting their times and yours. My point above was to say that there aren't many gentlemen left in the world. LOL!

People that just block tend to forget that this isn't a dick-size competition, but a day to enjoy your car at your pace. At the end of the day, you will always be faster than some and there is ALWAYS someone out there faster than you. But people take everything personally nowadays, and I agree that that kinda spoils the fun.

Having said that, its always fun to see someone spin off when they genuinely suck and try so hard to out drive their car!

    Regarding the Yellow Vette:

I guess he didn't see the corner workers Blue Flagging him (Those flaggers are on top of that stuff). I went out in the "Middle" of one of the sessions, and on my warm up lap I was getting blue flagged before I got to corners 3-4. And I was trying to let people pass (as they were already warmed up).

That is a good point Exhlr8n, but as RedTanRT/10 mentioned earlier, in the red group, you shouldn't need to be told by the flaggers. If you do, then you don't belong in that group. In addition, not seeing / paying attention to them is an even stronger indication that you don't belong in red. LOL!!!!

“Arizona Vipers” Sorry man! Didn’t mean to hold you up. Not sure which session you’re referring to. This was my first track day with this car at Willow. Used to running in a G5 ACR... With that 9.0l you should have flown by me on the straights!

I’m not the kind to point by as I’m used to wheel to wheel racing. As Buck “redtan/10” said I’m usually in “race mode.” I will not block anyone (I like my paint on my car). I will
however hold my normal line. If you’re truly faster you’ll be able to get around me. That’s why were in the red “race” group

I’ve never had a problem with the usual so cal guys but then again we know each others on track abilities quite well. Hope I didn’t leave a sour taste in your mouth and we hope to see you out at the track again sometime!
