Race Gas Question

I have the opportunity to do a few track days and was wondering if you wise people can let me know which of the two gas options would be recommended for a 2017 Viper ACR-E without any modification (i.e., all stock). Would you recommend the 100 or the 108 Unleaded?

Unmodified? I wouldn't bother with racing fuels. Save your money for tires!

Unfortunately it's an international track that I am going to and all they will provide is one of these fuels and I can't leave the track with the car. The fuel is provided free by sponsors so money is not an issue here :-)

Just thinkining 100 that is RON 104 seems fine.
108 looks ideal for heavily modified car with high boost or high compression like said above. We don’t need high something like them cause we have just highest displacement lol.

Oh! What interesting rules!

I've never personally run race gas in my car, as unless you have ECU mapping to take advantage of it (or are experiencing knock somehow), I don't think you'll notice any difference. As long as the fuel is unleaded, I don't think it matters.

BUT there are plenty of more-experienced people than I here on the forums. Perhaps there's other information to be collected.

Talked to a racing shop that I use for my Corvette and they are of the same mind that the 100 would do for Viper. It should be a fun event!

100 is overkill. I mix and shoot for 96 octane in my race car.

Word to the wise when pumping - do NOT let a drop of either octane drip on your paint or you will be repainting the entire quarter panel because it melts the paint! I know first hand because it happened to me when the wind caught a drop and it hit my quarter panel at Miller Motorsports.

I run 101 unleaded in any car I take to the track including my stock ACR. It can't hurt, especially on hot days here in Arizona.

We know higher octane fuel is harder to burn, higher detonation threshold. I wonder if there will be incomplete combustion and how that would impact the cats/o2 sensors...the sticker says fine but on engines that burn this stuff completely. I'm sure it'll be fine for short duration.
