I've heard Gen ll radiator caps should be replaced at times. Also heard about a Special Anode Radiator Cap. Advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

had to modify the roe kit as we have overflow bottles that our cap attaches too
I'm an engineer in the chemical industry. Have been a long time. The concept of the anode cap is in basic chemistry and science terms, electrochemistry. Ironically, electrochemistry is what I've spent most of my career on. Coincidentally, I have quite an assortment of PhD electrochemists literally down the hall from my office.
Soooooooooooooo, years ago, I asked one about the concept of the anode cap. No, he's not a car guy at all, but we share professional interests together. We go back a ways and I trust him. His reply? Hell yes, the anode cap concept is solid.
Anywho, put your wallets down and let's continue this discussion about the merits of the anode cap.
Another Viper owner who is a fuel blending chemist at Texaco - I also trust him - added a comment to my anode radiator cap path... that regardless of the functionality of the anode cap in its basic sense of protecting the block and radiator, that while it is doing that task, it is also using up all the corrosion prohibiting additives that blending scientists like himself add to the antifreeze. Which are the entire functioning package to antifreeze, short of the won't freeze like water will part.
Short version. Save your money. Use the 17psi factory cap.
Also, use the Mopar HOAT orange coolant. It is the correct coolant for your car. Just get over the price and use it lol.
