How about some proof you've taken the ACR to at least one track in florida.
To be fair, he never said he raced his ACR.

I think if the ACR had a DCT and at least 700rwhp (basically over 800hp @ engine), it would be the car manufacturers would be gunning for. But 645hp when corvette/camaros and dodge hellcat/challenger is doing over that, Dodge really goofed on making our cars stand out in the world stage.
LOL, ACR was announced in 2015 and some probably took delivery early 2016. That's 2 years to this past summer with us on the world stage. Everyone else just caught up. The whole world was paying attention when every car was murdered one by one at the track. Dodge gave you a 7:01 capable 6 speed track monster that was mowing down all kinds of trick tech the conventional way and you could have it for 140K. The Corvette needed another 100 hp to match times. Lambroghini, Ferrari, Porsche, Mercedes all needed paddle shift transmissions to be better. The automotive world will remember what the ACR (Gen IV and V), and the Viper in general, accomplished. Fumbling the entire marketing campaign back in 12/13 sealed the car's faith until end of production. However, the ACR was a much needed breathe of fresh air to make sure the G5 went out with a bang. It did to hyper cars what the Nissan GTR did to super cars. With the recent success of Dodge performance cars and trucks, I am starting to get really excited with what FCA might come up with next. Hopefully the recent success will allow proper funding to release something revolutionary.

There are at least two reasons why I have not tracked the ACR -- limited time (I am the managing partner of a land use and real estate litigation law firm with two little girls, ages 4 and 7) and limited desire (as mentioned previously, I've been there and done that; thus, I do not have the yearning that you might to get back to sweating all day in a paddock with race gear, turning wrenches and eating Subway out of an ice cooler; I'm good).

Plus, frankly, I kinda' screwed myself because the car came out too nice from the 1 of 1 program. I enjoyed the ordering and build process but was not prepared to love the end result as much as I do. I never thought that would be a detractor, but it is -- which kinda' screwed its chances for the track). I should have bought a used car in some common solid color like gunmetal if I wanted to track it but, as they say, everything happens for a reason.

As for mileage, the car has 1,800 miles as of this weekend when I took my 7 yo for a ride. She loves cars and loves the ACR. If it lives out its remaining days as her excuse to get away with dad by herself, even if we just putt around our town in it, I'll be more than happy with that.

Now, how did we get here from my comment about the GTR?

Honestly, I can see Scotts point to a degree. Sure an ACR is best used at a track, but tracking doesn't hold a candle to racing. It just doesn't.

I bought my Viper as a track day car, and it has about as many track miles as street miles on it. But the more racing I do, the less interest I have in track days. I think last year I made two?

Going wheel to wheel in $15,000 junkers is much more exhilarating than open lapping in todays best exotica...... well, maybe not on the straights. lol.

I race wherever I get invited. Lol. Have race bag will travel. I've raced in cars from Mustangs in Chump car in Canada to Civic CRXs in Champ car in the US. My last seat was in a spec Miata. Beautiful handling little cars. Cheap fun! By racing standards anyway!

Everyone who has an AMG GT around here seems to keep it for about 3 weeks before flipping it back out (which might explain the mad depreciation). Curious to hear the track report though from someone who can really drive. But then I would love for Arizona to take out one of the aforementioned track beasts also. That would be awesome.
Do you have to douche up every thread?

Let the guy post about his car. Next you'll be waxing poetic about connecting with the road via your standard manual transmission. Just save it. Thanks.

Congrats AZ! I was super close to getting one about a year ago but I couldn't justify the depreciation hit I knew it would take. I test drove a GTC Edition 50 at my local dealer and I was hooked. It was so much fun to drive and the interior was insane. I can't think of a better daily driver in that category. Hopefully you found more than one with 40k off MSRP so I can go get one too! For anyone not digging the way they look, they actually look MUCH better in person than in pics. I also think a sick set of wheels and a slight lowering job sets them off, but what car doesn't benefit from that.

Look forward to seeing your feedback and reports on the new Viper/AMG hybrid forum. Who knew it would take a little AMG action to revive these forums again. Haha

Nice Car, Arizona. I'm glad to see they built a stronger Merc. Not quite my cup of tea, but I can see why people like them so much.

I had a yellow AMG GTS come at me on the highway last year, and I was surprised how strong my stock GTS pulled away on him. I thought they were a bit faster than they are.

I purposely do it for you DC, because I know how much it bothers you

What's the difference between tracking and racing? Tracking is individual while racing is competitive?

Tracking is driving on a racetrack non competitively. You're trying to be fast, but there's nothing to win.

Track days you try to be courteous of faster guys. Try not to get in their way. Racing you're not necessarily courteous, you're trying to win. Lol.

There's a lot more chances taken while racing. You want to bring the car back in one piece, but if it looks a little worse, that's fine. Lol. You never go three wide, balls out in a corner while tracking......

Well not usually. Unfortunately where I track and the people we track with, red mist occasionally descends and we do find ourselves 3 abreast going into a corner occasionally . It's all okay of course as we usually know each other.. Until it ends in tears for someone at some point ... Lol!

    LOL...isn't that the truth!

AMG GT is an engineering work or art. I mean this is the best in the business execution in manufacturing and design. Incredible piece!

I love the driving and tracking experience of my ACR and it's an absolutely toy from a styling perspective but while I think it's decently built it can't hold a candle to the level of execution of the AMG.

Hey dude! Funny I saw a couple of your posts over on the MB forum! Are you still looking? I got really lucky because I've been looking for a long time and the GTR's are holding their value extremely well.

Same here, HPDE4 in nasa looks just like race group, but we have all been tracking together for a long time so we trust each other. We have way more crashes in HPDE than race group.
