Chevy s Performance Data Recorder on the ZR 1

Let me start this with a disclaimer. I am in no way comparing Vipers to Vette's nor Chevrolet to Dodge in this thread. I logged on to the Chevrolet website just to take a look at the new ZR 1 Corvette and first off I really enjoyed surfing around the site. I thought it was very well done. Wait,Stop. This isn't a who has the best marketing thread ether.

What I found very interesting was their Performance Data Recorder and how you could use it as a tool at the track to analyze your driving performance. With a press of a button you get in car video as well with out setting up a go pro and all that it entails. Not having to deal with track suppled transponders is another benefit. Push another button and the car is in vale mode and recording video of the kid you just handed your keys to.

No... I never vale park any of my Vipers but I have heard of instances where a person doesn't have any other choice but to do so or leave a venue. This is never a problem for me because they don't invite people like me to those kind of events anyway.

Love it or hate it the new ZR 1 is a monster.

This is probably all old news. But what do you guys think of the value of having PDR and do any on here have any real like experience with this unit?

I have it in my 2016 Z06. It was optional. It's a pretty cool device. It will do video recordings of your 0-60, 0-100, 1/4 mile and full video of your lap times. Very accurate. Lots of technology in the C7 Z06 and ZR-1's.

You should have seen some of the heartbreak that owners experienced on some of the early C7 Z06's and their "record" lap times. They later found that the PDR wasn't recording the lap times properly, sometimes skipping a full second on a lap. There was some sort of glitch that people discovered, but probably fixed by now.
