    Viper Invasion 2019 East Texas Auto amp Cycle Show Feb 15 17th

    Viper has been chosen as the theme of the 2019 East Texas Auto and Cycle Show! Wayne and D'Ann Rauh support this organization and have brought in cars for many years. The organizers asked the North Texas VOA if we could get together enough cars to be the center point, and we said hell yeah we can! So, please plan on joining us for the weekend here in Tyler, Texas. There are two ways to participate. 1) Enter your car in the show. We'll have a prime spot all together in the main room all weekend. Car must be brought in Friday, and cannot be removed until Sunday afternoon so you'd have to spend the weekend with us. I'm going to work on getting us a block of rooms at the Marriott we always use for the Azleway Car Show so check back here for information regarding reserving rooms. If you've never stayed at the Marriott with us, we have a good time in the evening outside having drinks and cigars and some of the best fellowship you've ever seen. 2) Saturday, Feb 16th, we will have our own special Viper only parking section outside. The organizers are also going to be setting up a very basic autocross type course for us to offer spirited rides to those who donate to the East Texas Crisis Center. THIS IS COMPLETELY VOLUNTARY. You do not have to participate in the giving of rides, but it's going to be a ton of fun. There will be local press throughout the weekend as well as television and radio advertisement leading up to the weekend. This show is in it's 29th year and has several thousand attendees.

    Wayne and I will also be working on setting up dinners for all of us for those who want to make a weekend of it.

    We haven't ironed out all the details yet, but I'll be updating this thread over the next couple of months, so check back here for more information. Also, feel free to comment or ask questions. I have turned on notifications so I should be notified you have commented.

    Please see the below information that the East Texas Crisis Center has put out there. I have also attached the registration information. There will be special considerations and gifts for Viper owners, so please let us know if you plan to enter your car before submitting the form.

    "The 2019 East Texas Auto & Cycle Show benefiting the East Texas Crisis Center will be celebrating the 29th year. The show will open at Harvey Convention Center in Tyler on Friday, February 15th at 4:00 p.m. and run through Sunday, February 17th. The show brings in vehicles of all makes, from every decade, some very rare, some from car enthusiasts who own vast collections of cars and some from those who have owned or purchased the one “dream car” from their youth."

    Quick update. If you plan on coming and want to participate in the rides on Saturday and possibly Sunday, please let us know by December 11th. The event organizers are trying to get a rough idea of how many people will be giving rides. Again, this is optional, and if your car is entered in the show inside the convention center, you will not be able to participate in the rides. Unless you have more than one viper, the in that case, bring it on! And these will be mild, nothing extravagant or requiring or a racing pedigree.

    Hello. If our car is in the show, how do we get to and from the Marriot? Is it within walking distance?

    Also, i work outside the U.S. and i arrive home Feb. 13th. I would like to schedule a bumper to bumper, show quality detail for Feb 14th so that I can make this event on the 15th. Is there someone you or another member could recommend? Thanks for your involvement and efforts.

    Hey man! It’s not within walking distance, but we have Uber here in Tyler. In addition to that I’m sure some of the local people wouldn’t mind helping out in getting to and from places.

    Where would you want to have the car detailed? Tyler or somewhere else? I know people on several cities around Texas so shoot me a location and I’ll get you a name or two.

    You're probably getting tired of hearing about the East Texas Crisis Car Show on February 15th-17th 2019! There are a few things that we are needing after the meeting last Tuesday with the Crisis Center.

    1) If you are putting your Viper in the show if you would please get registered ASAP so we will know if we are going to have the 25 Vipers required to fill the room. So far we have 19 with the 4 Wayne and D’Ann are putting in. That's if everyone who said they will enter follows through.

    2) If you have any big banners to hang on the wall they will need to be there Thursday morning. You may bring anything else Friday as long as to is set up by show time Friday 4:00 pm.

    3) We need to know how many people can give rides at the show on Saturday 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and on Sunday 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. If possible we need 6 vipers going at a time. Each driver will be giving 10 rides per hour. So we need lots of drivers so people can switch out and take breaks. If you have your Viper in the show and you would be willing to also give rides, Wayne will bring 4 vipers in you can give rides in. Also, if you are willing to give rides but don’t want to bring your viper at all, you are also welcome to drive one of Wayne's.

    4) Friday the local TV stations ABC, NBC, CBS, will be at the convention center as well as throughout the weekend. They would like for us to have three people willing to give the news people a ride so they can film (both inside the car and out). Footage will air on the 5, 6, and 10 o’clock news Friday and some Saturday. They have asked for winged Vipers and/or loud exhaust. Shouldn't be a problem. This would be a good chance for you and your Viper to be on the news for a good cause!

    Thanks to Mark and Laurie Rea Boyer from Houston and their quick response to helping back when the first email was sent out a few months ago. With everyone's help, we have a good chance of raising up to $9,500.00 for the Cruise Center by giving rides. If you have any questions please ask. We need everyone’s participation. Thank you in advance for participation.

    Additionally, if you need to bring your Vipers to Tyler before the show you are welcome to leave them at the Rauh's place, we have two people doing that so far . Wayne promises he won’t drive them!

    Quick update on the ETCC Auto and Cycle show! The hotel information has been finalized and reservations are ready to be made! You can use the link at the bottom of this email, or call the property directly. It's the Marriott on South Broadway that we have used in the past for our Azleway car show. We will have a parking area just for us and the fire pit outside is ready for the business meeting. We have the special rate for Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, so feel free to use all or some of those dates to fit your needs. Look forward to seeing everyone!



    As Wayne said in a previous email, we still need more people to register for the event itself, and to give people rides out front in the parking lot. Last count I saw had us at 13 or 14 cars inside (we need 25). So if you've been dragging your feet getting registered, go ahead and get it done!
