Anton, I'm assuming you have seen this video. I am fairly certain it is #10. Just add's to the story of the car. When I get my shop done, I will have it running non stop.

Seeing as I dealt with Geico on a total loss Viper ACR in the past, and they ended up paying full market value for it (was a pain to deal with them, but considering the cost savings, was worth my time). I guess mileage will vary from situation to situation, but despite all the horror stories I hear about Geico, they've always been fair in the end as long as you keep bugging them and don't deal with a junior adjuster (definitely get to the VP level).
Not sure how you managed because Geico charges me 4K a year for: 1 ACR, 1 RAM 1500 (2004), 1 Subaru (2001) and the 2018 Challenger 392... and I don't even insure the Elise since it's PNO anyway. I believe the Challenger is the most expensive at $1800 a year.

You should probably buy a ACR. I think you could use the extra rear downforce

I think it's because I have the Vipers insured with estimated mileage of 1000 miles or less a year. Geico asks for odometer checks every year, and after a few years of documentation (backed by the online smog records for the '97 GTS) they kept lowering my rates to where they are today. Other factors are that I'm old and drive an old Grand Cherokee 99% of the time

Also, strangely, when I got insurance for the ACR-E, they initially gave me a really high quote. Then, they looked up the VIN and said, "oh, you have a Viper GTC, so that is much less expensive to insure." I went back and forth with them about it, and they put in writing that the coverage was based on the window sticker and even though it's technically a GTC, it's covered as an ACR-E. That was confusing as heck for me, but I got enough assurance that I'd be fully covered that I didn't argue to pay more. It's a strange phenomena - they go by the VIN, and if you have an ACR-E that's one-of-one, it gets insured as a GTC from Geico's perspective. They're a big company, and they don't seem to care that there is a big difference.

I forgot about this video! Waiting to hear back from my insurance this week. This will definitely be the car I'm going after if all works out with my value.

How is it working out for you with the insurance?

Still working on it. Their first value came back at 90k which is not bad given all they used were regular GTS comps. I've since provided more information and awaiting their decision.

Wow not bad! At least you know you are not going to get some 80k offer.

I'm sure you have already done this, but remind them that the Carbon Package added another $13,900 to the sticker.

So they actually offered 90k but 97k with taxes. I didn't even think about taxes. Since this is my total, this process is all new to me.

Glad to hear the value is fair so far. Assuming you saw the other carbon car for sale recently? #50/50.

Saw it, unfortunately, it went pending and might have even sold by now.

See if you can also get them to cover the gas guzzler tax... They typically are on the hook for sales tax, license and registration (pro-rated for what was left until next renewal). I also hit them up for gas guzzler tax and after tons of argument, they gave it to me. Finally, when it is all said and done, definitely look at the buy-back option. They'll deduct the buy-back from the payout (which also screws you a bit on the tax payout) but if the amount is way low and someone like X2 offers you more, it's worth it for the extra few thousand.

And don't forget those wheels....It'll cost another 7-8 thousand to replace them
