Hey everyone glad to be here

Hi everyone, my name's Alex. I joined because I've been a member on ViperAlley and ViperClub for nearly 10 years so I thought I would join here as well.

I am personally looking to purchase a 2015 TA 2.0 in Competition Blue. I'm not looking for an uber low mileage museum piece nor will I pay a crazy premium for such. I simply want a nice example that's been driven normally which I will pay fair market value for.

I'm not in a hurry and I'm sure I'll be looking for several months until I find one that's realistic. If you know of one online for sale, please post the link. If you are selling one, please email me alexclaytor@gmail.com

    Thanks!

Since the TA model are all crazy priced, it sounds like you won’t be getting one. It still baffles me that they hold their vAlue
so well. I wish you luck still. They are quite awesome of a package

Well I own Comp Blue T/A #001. I have had thoughts of selling this car, but I think it would that six figures to motivate me.

Holding value well is one thing, I'm just not going to be unwise with my hard earned money and pay inflated prices. I have been saving for 10 years. I've seen some ACR-Es exchange for stupid prices, a lot asking stupid prices, but some selling very reasonably.

Good to know, I'll keep you in mind and add you to my list if no other cars for less present themselves over the next several months.

How many miles on yours? Any mods? Just so everyone knows, I do consider mods to be a plus. For example, would be great if I can get one with Stage 2 heads/cam/tune and exhaust. I do still need to comply with CA emission laws though, but that's not as big a deal as most think.

    Thanks! Alex

Nice, thanks for the info. I also went through and read most of your posts. I'm glad to see you track it, the best cars are the ones that are debugged and dialled in.

I change the oil before track days and immediately following tracking. The trans and rear end oil is changed after three track outings.

If you've seen ACR-E's exchange, evidently the price wasn't stupid for either party, regardless of number or your opinion.

That would depend upon if it went to a happy buyer, or a speculator now wouldn't it?

No it wouldn't. An agreed upon price was established, regardless of buyer motive. Probably somewhere this side of 'Stupid'

Stage 2 heads and cam won't comply with CA emissions, nor will a Arrow controller. Just an FYI.

Comply on paper and by the written "rules" perhaps, but will it throw no engine codes and be tunable for tailpipe emissions? That's what matters. The smog tech has no way to know what's inside the engine, which is why they only check for things like C.A.R.B. numbers for visible components like headers. Once it passes, then just change back from the "smog" tune.

I've been dyno tuning cars for 2 decades now, there is a lot which can be done to make things "seem" compliant and pass just fine. Do I know about Vipers? No, not a damn thing, yet.

Is the Arrow controller for Viper a proper stand-alone management system like a MoTeC, or just a piggyback?

its its own dedicated PCM but you cant modify the settings. Arrow PCM is off road controller only

It will mask many of the readiness sensors and it will not report correctly to the OBD connection. There are ways around it but not legal clearly. It will never pass smog even though they do not do a tailpipe check anymore.

Then so long as it's not supporting any mods that the stock PCM can't, just swap it back for the smog test.

I just had a car tested 8 months ago and they did the tailpipe check. I thought they only stopped doing the roller testing?

So wait, if the Arrow doesn't talk to the OBD port, how can you data log or the SRT Performance pages work? CANBUS?

If you have headers then no as the rear O2 sensors will not work. With just heads and no cams and no ported intake the OEM ECU will work. With anything beyond just the head flow work the OEM ECU will throw a code. Now this is all kind of a ring around the rosy argument as nobody does just head porting and nothing else. They do heads/headers/gen V or ported intake manifold, then the supporting mods.

Heads with Cams without headers could be tunable on a OEM controller with HP tuner but that is getting into a grey area. Todd at AC performance will know better. Still not by the book legal.
