2010 convertible trunk doesn t open

i just bought it yesterday, drove it home, but i can't open the truck to get my stuff out. it doesn't have a trunk release per the Coupe thread above the license plate - just a key slot.
i tried the key fob, but no luck. then, i tried the key. it didn't go to the left, so i turned it to the right. i felt it move inside, but that direction usually locks it; and it didn't open.
now, the key turns to the right only, but i don't feel it engaging anything. and the key fob seems to work, but it doesn't allow me to open it.

could anyone help me with this?

The lock should open clockwise. Try pressing downward on the trunk lid lightly at the same time.
