dead pedal relocation question IV 2008 Vert

Hi guys, I've watched this video and decided this was something I need to do. I am trying to get the hinge off that holds the dead pedal so I can un mount it and use the third "hole" as the new location for the dead pedal.

I just got my 13mm wrench but am a bit stumped on removing the plastic caps that cover the first and last holes on the track. Do I pry them off? Twist? I was going lefty loosie for about 3 minutes-- and although the rubber caps rotated, I couldn't get them off without just making sure I am doing this properly and inquiring with the guys first.

Here's a picture to show what I'm referring to (caps are marked with a red star!) as well as the video displaying the mod I am trying to do. I love my car but being 6'5" and having football legs I would love that extra half inch of room with the dead pedal being relocated a bit farther back. My left knee would thank me.

They pry off, plastic caps, small pick tool or plastic panel removal tool.
