Some Stereo suggestions for a 2004

Hi - New to the forum. Have a 2004 with very low miles, just 3,200.

Just changed all the fluids, and the thing I can't stand is the 90's stereo. Want to replace with something that would still look factory - and have the ability to hook my iPhone into it to play music, get directions, etc...

Maybe the genIV? It has a pretty small screen, but at least looks factory. Just not sure on the compatibility with a newer iPhone.

Also thought fabbing' in a double-din, but looks like the guy(s) that sold a modified dash are no longer around.

    Thanks!

I put a single-din fold out in mine. Before that I had a single-din kenwood in it but I wanted to update from that one and get better functionality with my phone as well. If you just want a modern upgrade, just go to the crutchfield website and put in your car info and pick out what works for you. It will be as plug-and-play as it can be at that point.

Benefit I liked in mine is that with the fold out is that when it’s off it looks like a basic single and dosent really look out of place. The doubles look weird to me and the new trend seems to be single din units with double din or larger sized fixed screens that look like knockoff Mercedes or Mazda afterthoughts...

I'm thinking of picking up another console, cutting it to size and hopefully putting in a shallow depth Double Din so I don't have to cut the magnesium brace I've read that is directly behind a few inches...

I'm thinking I need to run a wire from one of the tail light reverse bulbs positive, but was wondering if there was a closer wire I can use. Thanks in advance.
