Headers Vs Catback

I picked up a stock RT/10 and want to add headers or a catback. The neighborhood I live in is pretty strict as far as noise from cars and I plan to drive this car in the early mornings (love it here and won't move haha). What would be the best combo for performance/weight reduction while keeping the car from being too loud?

Headers, high flow cats, stock catback
Stock manifolds, high flow cats, Corsa catback

Would love to run catless headers and corsa like my other gen 2s but I would be kicked out immediately!

With an 01 RT I would go with HF cats and catback over headers and stock catback. Going with HF cats and still keeping some type of muffler in place should keep things lower than a teenagers 5.0 mustangs loudness when not driving aggressively.

I'm guessing nobody drives a Harley in the neighborhood? My neighbors is significantly louder than my car with HF cats and only the 2 resonator borla. Not to mention he has to run his for 5 mins+ before driving off. Me, I get in, start the car and leave. I wish the community luck if they every wish to push that envelope with me....

Do not go catless , as it is getting more and more difficult to resell and most Dealers will now deduct as it has to be disclosed , even if sent to an Auction. Headers ( Belangers are the way to go ) with high flow cats, and a Corsa catback should work fine. I would stay away from Borla and some others as they likely will be too loud and have a lot of drone. Good luck and just cruise slowly out of your neighborhood, ha.

When I swithched to side exhaust back in '07 that dropped about 40 pounds IIRC. I wrote it down pretty sure, but from memory of something I did over 10 years ago. Hmm.

Thanks for the replies. I am going to go with HFC and Corsa. Also, currently scoping out nearby storage garages so I can avoid the neighborhood issue all together.

Hey I am like the poor version of you.
06 Elise and 91 300zx, which has the same headlights as your Lambo. In fact, you probably know that under the carbon fiber strip on your headlights, they have the Nissan logo on them. What I would give to have a 6.0.

Sorry, no advice on the exhaust, but I too, wish for a nice solution without much sound.

Nice collection! I love that blue. The Lotus cars are so much fun. I wish the Viper had half he steering feel of that car. That carbon strip on the headlights of the Lambo is hilarious. Lots of weird unique things on that car. Enjoy those cars!
