    Launch control

Not had a chance to test this out yet.... What traction mode should I be in? Doesn't specify in the manual. How well does launch mode work? Appreciate any and all comments.

Does it do anything other than hold a launch rpm?

Launch control sucks on all SRT Product. All it does is hold RPM's. It doesn't try to manage traction or anything. Even on AWD Product it doesn't try to manage traction but since it's AWD it doesn't have traction issues. I own basically all of FCA's SRT lineup and it's all the same thing. Just push the button and it'll hold RPM's.

I've had mine since 2014, and I still have yet to press that button. Some day, maybe.

If you press the button it creates a listing on copart immediately.

The one and only time I tried using it on my ‘13 coincided with my car being very low on oil (unbeknownst to me) and the sustained high rpms led to the first bearing failure in the US. Yay me. I have yet to even touch the button on my 14 and never will.

Don't bother. I tried it once at the drag strip. It was by FAR the worst launch of the day. The tires just spun! What a joke.

Tried it on my Hellcat and it’s basicallybuseless. It just sets RPM. On the same track same spot repeated launching a you might be able to find an RPM that works, but on the street it is just a crap shoot.

Gotcha, good to know. I wish the car had a line lock feature so I don't wear the rear pads/rotors during a burnout.

Launch Control on the Gen V should be called the Smoke Control button. It allows you to do a decent burnout without bouncing off the rev limiter. That's about it.

You're better off launching on your own. On PZero's or PZero Corsas, you're best launching at around 2300 RPM.

    Yup, that's an apt description.
