It's my opinion, the car in question is neither overpriced, nor a killer deal. It's priced pretty much right there.

One thing to think about, if you bought a car that didn't check all the boxes, would you be tempted to add those options after purchase? A lot of people do. Buy a good deal, or what they can afford at the time, only to spend money making it what they want after the fact. I can imagine, if you bought a lower spec car, for a better deal, and added just the 3 carbon options after the fact, you'd be way over the price of this car. Interior and exterior carbon pieces are prohibitive to buy separately. TA aero isn't exactly cheap either.

If this was the car I wanted, I'd buy it.

When I bought my car, it only needed to be comp blue, and have an SRT hood, but seeing as it was a new color option for that year, I couldn't buy a used one. Had to be new. Imagine being the guy who had to pay full price for this car? Or even close to new?

The GTS-R is a "special edition" white car with blue stripes.

The color is GTS-R blue. I’m aware what a gts-r model is. Thanks.

For most Viper owners, the car is just a luxury item that they can sit on as long as they wish. They aren't typically in some urgent need to sell the vehicle. This isn't the same thing as the commuter car market. The values of these cars also do not really depreciate, so they can sit a long time and it isn't a problem.

Why would someone accept your low-ball offer, when they know the right buyer will come along in six months that will pay full asking price? Even if they had to wait a year, the right buyer will come along. They lose nothing.

Even the Viper focused dealerships stock up on these cars, and sit on them for several months. They know that eventually every single one of them will sell. This is a powerful position to be in, as a seller.

It is simply your choice to sit on the sidelines, wishing Viper owners would follow your genius marketing theories, without a Viper.

I’ll make the counter-argument; that guy has been sitting on that car FOREVER, it’s obviously not priced correctly. Waiting a few months for the right buyer to come along is one thing, 18 months is something entirely different. I think he is very foolish to turn down a $95k offer, that is actually more than I thought he’d get for it. That being said, it’s obviously his perogoatove, and he ultimately determines the sale price. And it does appear the prices are rising and may eventually meet his ask, he obviously has no problem being patient.

The owner of this car has had countless offers over the past year and a half as you would expect, from decent to ridiculous. He has come down some in price but is pretty much as low as he's going I believe. As Nine Ball said, he really doesn't care if it sells now or in yet another six months, obviously he doesn't need to sell it. Nice position to be in. IMO the overriding factor besides how beautiful it is is that with such low miles you know it's going to be in damn near showroom condition. I am willing to pay extra for that and have many times. I just like to put my own chips and nicks in it.

I've bought four new ACR's over the last few years and always paid WAYYYY under MSRP for them, there was no way I would ever pay full sticker that's for suckers. But when I was able to get a GTS-R that rule went out the window. Sometimes you just have to step up if that's what you want. Good luck!

And for every seller holding out for the right person willing to pay top dollar there's probably several buyers holding out for the perfect car at bottom dollar

@OP, perhaps you've already seen this Orange T/A on eBay.

Ryan, I don't know if you plan to drive the car as intended, lol, but where the ad comments on the TA Package being focused on lap times, a real benefit to actual track users is its ability to run faster times lap after lap with the heavier brakes being more resistant to fading, a suspension and alignment that helps the tires stand up longer, and the 5 mode stability control that includes a rain mode. It rained or had rained on five out of 6 days on track this year and I only missed a couple of sessions with rain mode saving the day. The nylon seats breath and offer good support and a little aero is always a good thing. Brilliant car for guys that track and don't want to mod. Brake pads and fluid put you out front with the quickest cars (well-driven ACR-E and some uber exotics excepted).

^^^^THIS is SO True! So many times it's So much Cheaper to get the car you want with at least Most of the options you want than to buy one & Then ADD All the options you wanted! This is on ANY Vehicle! jmo

WOW, though I've never been into Orange I think if you throw $88k out there you may could walk away with it! To me that would be a Great Deal IF you like Orange

My preference has always been comp blue and wasn't a fan of the orange until I saw the car in person in 2014. The body lines and color combo just spoke to me.

Those are the 2 colors I’ve been waiting 4-5 years now to see in person. They both look amazing in certain lighting. I hope somebody on here picks up that OTA, looks clean.

And if this is a no-stories TA in great shape it's worth a lot more than that...especially if it's covered by the 10 year or other extended warranty.

  17. #42
IMO Vipers will only go up in value...Get them now in a few years you'll wish you had. Good luck!

My Viper did not have that label on it, but I think it would be pretty easy to track the service records for someone who wants to by this car.

Agree with Bruce, if that orange TA doesn’t have accident or bad engine history or anything that’s a steal even at full price. I’ve seen 4 different orange TA sell in the past 3 months for between 95-105.

I also was looking for a competition blue with stripes ,orange was my 3ed choice and I thought I would end up striping it. I chose the TA because of package. I had seen the blue and black in person , I did not see the orange in anything but pictures. When the car rolled off of the delivery truck I almost fell over I loved the color so much and I never thought about stripping it after I got it.

Three TA owners giving their unbiased opinions on how underpriced that TA for sale is. Check.

Yeah, I get that but here's the thing...there has been several TA's sold in the Toronto area over the last 2 years and they've sold for over the original MSRP of $120,480. Take the exchange rate into consideration and that's over $95,000 US. I believe a poster here bought the white '14 TA from Viper Exchange over the last few month for over $100,000 US. A different white '14 is available up here for $135,000 currently. A TA 2.0 sold for high $130's, or close to $105,000 US.

No surprise as it's the sweet spot for a track and touring G5...and at about a 50% discount off the price of a comparable Porsche

Thanks everyone for the info / opinions / links ect..... Hoping to bring a TA home in the next week or so
