As some know, I have quite the list of Vipers

Over the next few days I will be posting the data I have on the last 15 based on MDH. It will include everything I have including the equipment list.

I'll place the cliff notes here, the detailed list will be on the Viper Registry(.com). This is a non affiliated site to any club, organization or group. It been around since 2011. Most know my history and my fight. This information will be posted in a number of places, figured I would post it here also so people know its origins.

Please accept my apology if there is non approved information in this post, however, the only partial link is to a site a created 7 years ago and I have expressed my opinions on that site, some pretty harsh. I was in the old club many, many years ago. Then I left the Viper world while we raised our kids. When I returned, I discovered that I'd thankfully missed an ugly breakup. Anyway, I love reading driveviper.com forums, and I appreciate all the work that's gone into making this Club such a success. And I also really appreciate the hard work that ViperJeff has put into documenting our Vipers.

Appreciate it. Our conversations have also added to my decision to move back to a site that is independent. I’m still not all together sure exactly what/how/if I will continue to convey all the data I have. As you and others may know, I’m not in a rush to get it all out. There is a question here “do I have the last 40”, well of course I do. Brian I think you know, it is something that I don’t necessarily just post.... to post. However, I will tell people (if I know) information about there Viper.

I wasn’t going to do any replies on this thread, however, you asked me a question awhile back that I refused to answer (for a number of reasons). So you and others know, to remain independent, I will answer questions that I can, from that independent venue. I hestatate to give the address repeatedly as I’m sure it’s not allowed and would need to be reviewed and ok’d from the executive staff, and even at that, I would not post the site very often or even again. I think it would be better if it was done by those that have requested and received the data they were looking for. This way I don’t need to post, I can avoid posting rules violations and avoid putting executive staff in a position of dealing with complaints.

No there isn’t, the concern here is the data I post is supported by another club and/or my site where the VOA has no control on its presentation. At one time there was a fleeting thought to have it somewhere here, however, I had the same concern of not having control of my own data.

It’s very important to me to share data learned with the group that helped supply information learned. I would have never found these last two Vipers unless they came up for sale.

For reasons to maintain a little privacy to the Owners of the two Vipers added to the list, I will just provide the MDH and the last digit in the vin. The only Viper on the list to be affected is #15 which drops two spots

For me, it just adds more questions. More work to do

I see a lot of similarities to your plight here, but I saw (still see them) them in the Saleen world. This was ultimately resolved by Saleen keeping the original records and but a 3rd party updating them with actual information from the owners for their cars as even Saleen's factory records were not 100% accurate for each car. It also kept a record of owner's names and state or province or wherever for the car in a registry. Ford has Marti-Reports for verification but 3rd party groups for registry. I am sure Chevy has something similar and Dodge/Chrysler records builds by VIN (online - I tested it our to a few 1992 Vipers and the data is all there, even some MRSP window stickers too) but you have to know the full VIN to get info and there is no registry.

As Dodge/Chrysler moved on from Viper, I am sure this information could be gathered or bought from them (to create a Marti type of service) and a Viper registry created as well. Again all the info is there from Dodge online but you have to know every single VIN to collect it online and then digitize it to present it in a better format. Does not collect owner registry, title status, etc. which I believe is going to be very, very important to the Viper's and their final value going forth. I believe a lot of owners would pay a little to be in a registry and to be able to able to search quickly within a Marti type of service on a particular car to collect info, look for it or to single out what they want to buy.

I fully support someone doing this as if we ever want to see values rise and in reality who doesn't, despite a few who just don't care, these are the types of things that need to be done. If I won Powerball and did not have a young family, own my own business and no time to sit, then I would love to do something like this but that is not my reality world for the next 20 years. Retirement, maybe but the time to collect the info is now as it might be long gone by then or the people that really know will be deceased, which we are loosing that brain trust every year in the Viper community. There are a lot that appreciate your contributions.

I’ll have to look into Marti and see if I can learn.

I guess for me, the only advantage I have at this time is I have the 17 digit VIN for all the Vipers in my database. Just wish I had all the MDH’s

17 digit VIN are easy to establish if you know the last 6 numbers and the model (A, B, C or D for Gen V). Only the check digit (9th character) is unknown and it can be calculated very easily.

Definitely applaud Jeff for his efforts.
