MCS suspension on the GTS

We confirmed today that the MCS suspension systems will work on the GTS without any annoying dash lights or affecting any ESC modes, so if your new GTS will also be a part time track car or you just want a well controlled track proven adjustable suspension that just so happens to ride like a... well, a GTS or better then we have what you are looking for.

So now we know whichever GenV you have chosen GTS, SRT, TA or the new GT they can be outfitted with the very best all around suspension out there, MCS.

At last years SEMA I asked about aftermarket shocks at the Chrysler/Mopar booth regarding the GTS and they responded as no, you can't use aftermarket shocks due to the ESC, etc. They also said they did not have any plans to offer an upgrade to the stock system for lowering the car or for track rats, etc. Due to this answer, a friend bought a SRT instead of the GTS he would have preferred. He has KW's on his ACR and Penskes on a Gen 2. Are you saying that any aftermarket shock that fits will work with the GTS or does the MCS somehow work with the ESC due to a modification in the system that you guys perform?

Good information to know, I wonder how many other guys bought SRT's instead of the GTS because original shock info might not have been correct.

Does the MCS system allow adjustment via the dash/console damper control on the GTS & T/A?

You can mount the compression canisters under the hood and under the rear glass. The front rebound adjustment can be easily reached with the hood up, they are at the top of the shock. The rear rebound requires you jack the car up a little bit, they are also at the top of the shock.

You cannot compare them to the GTS shocks which are only a single adjustment for both rebound and compression. There are times when you will want softer compression and stiffer rebound, this, the GTS shocks cannot do.

Some questions since you did the install. Does anything need to be done to the system to allow you to run the MCS shocks and not throw a code for the ESC? This still seems to be an unanswered question.

This has got me thinking, are the shocks from a Gen 3, Gen 4 and Gen 5 interchangeable? Other than valving and spring rate, will they all fit the last three generations of Vipers? If so, this could be a good thing as some of us have either KW's, Motons or Penskes....if these can be moved to the Gen 5, then that would save some money in case you're selling your existing Gen 3 or Gen 4 with the stock shocks back on it.

Last thought, if they are interchangeable, is there a way to put the GTS shocks with the adjustment feature on a Gen 3 or Gen 4 and wire a switch to allow the driver to adjust the shocks like the Gen 5 GTS can?

The shocks will physically fit between the Gen3-5 cars, but the rear Gen5 shock is slightly different in dimensions, nothing drastic. Our MCS shocks work on all of them. The ESC module is totally isolated from the shock controls so when we disconnected the shocks all together and drove the GTS there were not any "lights" on for this, but there are "codes" in the system for "open circuit". this means that the stock shocks are only working in the track mode "default without signal I'm told". There is no way I can see that the Gen5 suspension can be "fully used" on any other Gen, because the electronics are not there.

We are currently selling the MCS suspension as an option to all of our Gen5 customers regardless of model now.

The old Moton clubsports are great shocks, I do not know what there current build quality is since I do not interact with the new owners. The MCS are evolutionary and I know they are engineered and spec'd out to be superior to the old Moton. Adjustability is the same with slightly better impact control on high speed compression.

I can tell you this, they have advantages over the penskes.

Let's not forget that both Jerome and Lex were apart of Moton and left to start MCS, I think we will be seeing a lot of great stuff out of them. I will be ditching my stock GTS suspension soon for MCS doubles!
