    New to VOA

Hello All, I recently purchased my first Viper, a 98 GTS in red. 12,000 mile "garage queen" that was sparingly enjoyed and basically a car show warrior. Extremely clean , well cared for car that shows well and is gorgeous. I immediately found a timing cover leak that was creating a mess and was led to Chuck Tator for discussion and repairs. I live 5 hours from Chuck in southern Maine, but the trip there was absolutely the best decision I could have made. Over the course of the week it lived in NY, the timing cover gasket was replaced, various gaskets were replaced with updated versions, the frame recall was performed and a variety of other "20 year old car" repairs were completed. Trailer her home this past Saturday and went for a ride yesterday to see what I bought. OMG, what a tremendous car. All smiles and the car outperforms anything I've ever driven in my life, including a number of high end Porsches and a variety of vintage and late model muscle cars. Not even close. This is going to be serious fun.

A huge shout out to Chuck for his help in getting the car sorted and turning it around in a week for me. He is absolutely a pro and a super nice guy to boot. VOA members were spot on in recommending him if I lived anywhere within a days drive away. Outstanding service and attention to details. Anxious to be part of the VOA. Steve

Congrats on the New to you purchase. I bought my RT/10 in Florida and drove all the way home to Chicago. What an experience. Lots of help on the Forums here.

Always good to get your Snake Tatorized if in the New York or New England area. The Wizard is definitely a Renaissance Man , but he is a passionate soul with Viper blood running through his veins! One post and already a member ---- not that is showing you understand the camaraderie and speed associated with being a VOA member -- huge Congrats!!!!

Congrats on the purchase and welcome to the club! Hopefully you can enjoy some regional events over the next month or so.

Besides his extreme Viper passion and knowledge, he does make a mean deviled egg ;-)

Congrats ... Enjoy your time with the new beast. That it's also beautiful is just icing on the cake.

Well, I live 8h away from Chuck.... by airplane

Chuck helped me a ton remotely by sending me the required parts and telling me where to be careful and what to do different compared to what the shop manual says. Only thanks to him I was able to fix my TC gasket leak by myself.

So, you are very lucky to live in DRIVING distance from the Wizard.

Ah, almost forgot: Welcome and enjoy the car as much as you can!

Are you viewing the forum from a Mobile phone or Lap Top?
If you look at the bar just above the box where you wright text, you will notice a picture frame with a small tree in it. Click on that and a box will appear, you can then load up a picture directly from your laptop picture files or mobile device.

Another way of doing it is to use a Host site such as Flickr or Photobucket you load up the pictures to that site then copy the BBCode

I will post a picture here,

A picture from a Host site normally uses brackets either side of the image these start with [img] and end [/img]

Now you may not be able to see what Im talking about until you quote this post, you will then be able to see the text Im talking about.
Hope that helps. Forums are a bit old school compared to Facebook

Welcome aboard Steve. Congratulations on your Viper. Looks great, even sideways. We have a pretty active group here in New England. I'm sure we will meet at one of the events. Enjoy the new ride.

Thanks. The Image Insert feature is fairly intuitive, but when I select photos they show up rotated as above. Have had this occur before so obviously something in my Apple that is rotating the photo from the original view. I'll figure it out and post some additional pics. Thanks for the welcomes . Steve
