Looking for a front set of P Zero Corsa tires for my 2014 TA

    Hi everybody,
Pretty much as expected, the P-Zero Corsa tires are out of stock when I need to buy some. Tire-rack and Jon B will not have them until end of November and Dodge does not have them and neither do any individual dealers.
Can anybody sell me a set of the fronts in 295/30/18? I'll pay for shipping or pick them up. Located in Northville, MI.

I love the Corsa tires and they're pretty good all around, but sometimes I wonder if I need to switch tires since the Corsa can be hard to get.. My first set lasted 14k miles and then cords started showing on the inside. 2-3 track days from the previous owner, but otherwise just street driving. Then for my second set of Corsa's I went with ZERO toe and -2.5 camber (All for the front), but the inside edge on the front has still worn down pretty good in 9.5k miles with only 1 autocross and the rest street driving... The inside edge still has a bit of life but I don't know if I trust it for the 40 minutes of track session I have coming up. Otherwise they're fantastic in the rain for a Viper and I can floor the car with full bolts ons in first gear when the tires are cold and hardly spin, if at all. Flat foot shifting I basically never spin either.

There's other tires some people use but maybe somebody with personal experience could chime in. I drive 95% aggressive street, daily driving, and long distance road trips with 1-2 track days per year. I need something that's not going to hinder me if I get caught in the rain on a road trip or daily driving. I also don't want to downgrade the car in performance. I do drive the car right up until it snows so I will see below freezing temperatures. Although I don't push very hard when it's cold. I've been on the forums for the last 3 hours researching tire options but it just makes me want the Corsa's more.

-Michelin PSS/PS2: Great street option, but will not have as much lateral grip and traction in the rear as the Corsa's. I love pushing the car on the street and don't want to downgrade with grip. On the track there's even more of a difference.

-Toyo R888r: Appears fantastic grip but probably needs to be warm more than the Corsa's so probably not as good for the street when I start driving fast on a cold tire. But I don't know exactly how bad they would be and I don't push terribly hard when tires are cold. I just don't want to be limited more than the Corsa. Also I hear driving in the rain you'd be better off pulling over or going half the speed limit? Also they are loud for road trips but some say it's not that big of a deal. Treadwear worse than Corsa which is already pissing me off but it's worth it.

-Michelin Sport Cup 2: Seems to be the same deal as the R888r except for less available heat cycles but a bit better in the wet. Treadwear still worse.

-Standard P Zero: Not even going to go there.

Not sure if anybody has actually used these tires or something else and can recommend a tire that doesn't have a noticeable street and track loss of grip vs. the Corsa's, but also doesn't sacrifice much wet traction for my road trips and daily driving since getting caught in the rain WILL happen at some point.

It looks like the best option for me the the OEM Corsa's so i'm hoping somebody has a front set that I could buy off of them. Please post here, PM me, or text 248-921-9005 if you have anything.
    Thanks!

Seems like most are switching to Michelins, although they will be 345 instead of 355. I think the Corsas will only be harder to source in the future. When my current set wears out, I'll switch, I think.

I also have a 2014 TA that I use for street driving and 3-5 track events per year. I will give you my opinion and experience for what it is worth.

I attended the 2017 Viper Rendezvous with a brand new set of ToyoR888r. I ran the second or third most laps that weekend (approx 130 over 3 days). I kept those same tires on my car for street driving (approx 4000 miles) and 3 more track days until Viper Rendezvous 2018. It was not until a track day a few weeks before Viper Rendezvous 2018 that the tires were finished. They heat cycled and essentially corded the same time. The tire performed great! Good grip and performance. The downsides of taking longer to heat up and poor wet performance are not too important to me since I would not push the car with cold or wet tires. I have driven them in the rain. I would not say you have to go half speed. Just no aggressive turns or hard breaking. Basically chill in the slow lane at 55-60 mph. Another downside is noise which does not bother me too much.

Fast forward to Viper Rendezvous June 2018. I decided to get a second set of tires/rims for the track. I decided to go ahead and use buy Hoosier R7s for the track weekend. I needed new street tires since the R888rs were toast. I bought OEM P Zero Corsas for the street, and I took my street tires as a backup to the track weekend. The Hoosiers performed great. However, a friend of mine was running a brand new set of P Zero Corsas on his new Gen 5. He corded the front tires in about 1 day at track. Big chunks coming off. He needed new tires for the second track day, so I let him buy my P Zero Corsa fronts. He proceeded to cord those buy the end of the second day.

I needed a new set of front street tires after the event. I asked ViperGeorge for a recommendation. He is on this forum and also has participated in One Lap of America in a Viper for the last ten years! With One Lap, you need to have a 200 tread-wear tire. His recommendations were Michelin PS2 295/30/18 for the fronts, and Michelin Pilot Super Sports 345/30/19 for the rear. I bought and have been running the PS2s on the fronts and am happy with them. I still am running the OEM Corsa on the back since I bought them already. When they wear out, I am planning on buying the Pilot Super Sports for the rear.

    So here are my recommendations:

    1) Only Street use - PS2 295/30/18 fronts. Pilot Super Sports 345/30/19 rears. You can also run the OEM P Zero Corsas. I think they do fine. I believe ViperGeorge told me thinks the above setup handles better in the rain. He should know with his One Lap experience.

    2) Street and Track use - In my mind, if you want a one tire that you can push on a track and still use for the street, I would get Toyo R888r all day long. Much more durable than the OEM P Zero Corsa. I believe they perform better on the track also. There is the drawback of slightly more road noise, and less wet performance. I don't push my car in these conditions. The above street use recommendations can also be used for the track. ViperGeorge would have to chime in on what he thinks the performance would be like. With 200 tread-wear, I suspect they are less grippy.

    3) Track use - If you have two sets of tires. On for the street and one for the track, I guess i would go with Hoosier R7s for some better performance than the Toyo R888r. However, the R7s heat cycle out in 10-15 sessions. My last r888rs were so durable and did not heat cycle out, I wonder if the performance is good enough that I should make them my track tire.

    Just my opinion.

I have used the Corsas before on my 2015 TA 2.0 and killed them in one track day. I would not buy them under any circumstance. Pure junk IMO. I was at the Viper Rendezvous with LuvSpeed and he is correct our friend Rich in a 2017 TA 2.0 killed two sets of front Corsas in two days! Repeat they are junk, even the Kuhmos on my ACR-E last longer and that is saying something.

PZeros - crap and in any case they are also back ordered. I have not run the Toyo R888r so I can't speak to them, they are not legal on One Lap nor are the Kuhmos or Corsas. The Hoosiers for a track tire are great, not for the street though. Tirerack was showing a few days ago the PS2 in 295/30/18 AND in 345/30/19. I would do those all day long. If the PS2 wasn't available for the rear I would do the PSS in 345/30/19, tread pattern is virtually the same. Compound is a little different with the PS2 being a bit stickier. For the street they are my choice and I do run them on the track in One Lap (LuvSpeed - 20 years by the way, not 10). They are a good street/track tire but not as sticky as the Corsas, Kuhmo's, or Hoosiers. But they are MUCH better on the street and they last much longer.

By the way, call Luke Pavlik at Tirerack, he'll give you the low down. You should also know that Pirelli keeps pushing the availability date back on both the Corsas and PZeros. Tires may end up being the hardest part to find for a Viper.

Wow! VERY great first hand info from everybody. Thank you so much for your time and recommendations. It's interesting that the R888r isn't a death sentence in the rain. I was just hoping that with moderate rain I wouldn't have to pull off a freeway or whatnot. I'm wondering if they're pretty bad before they're warmed up? Or if they still have some decent grip, although not near the maximum?

And I do like the idea of having a better street tire like the PS2, but I just hate the fact that they won't grip as well as the Corsa. Any chance the PS2 or PSS hold traction in first gear without spinning?

Also, anybody with experience or info using the Cup 2?

@OP, can't help on Corsa, but have a new set of Toyo R888R, 295x30x18 (2) 345x30x19 (2). Date code should be December 2017 or 2018. I'm willing to let go at a discount from the usual tirerack price.
This is my spare set, when situations like availability pops up. Recently picked up a trailer and no longer need street tires to drive to the track, switching to R7.

Thanks a ton for the help everybody! Picked up a set of Corsa fronts from ESM_Viper. My rears still have plenty of life so i'll run it like that for the rest of the season. I'll probably be revisiting this topic next year though, especially if the Corsa's are still on backorder. The R888r seems like a good option, I just need to look into the wet performance more.

@sharmut. Have the r888Rs been heat cycled? PM me price shipped to 80528; I might be interested as my Hoosiers will soon be toast.

You have close to 5 year old tires on the rear ......................get a new full set of something. Age, heat cycling differences and many other concerns, get 4 fresh tires. Like George, if you track , not a fan of the Corsas as they chunk out! Street driven likely fine?

A friend bought 12 Dunlop street/track tires dated 2013 for his AMG GTS and has been bitch-slapping just about everything on track shy of a TA and a bunch of ACR's all summer with them. I've been running out front of just about everything but ACR's since 2014 on Corsas without chunking, but I do know to warm them on track a bit slowly, not to slide them (much) in the corners, and I start them at 29 cold and keep bleeding them down to hot 34f and 32r. When the edges are worn down to nothing they do start to delaminate but by then I've had 5 or 6 pretty aggressive track days on them.

Fantastic street/track tire considering their good wet grip (tracked in damp/wet/rain 3 days this year), and I'm assuming those that don't like them are running in maybe hotter conditions than I do or their driving style is completely different than mine. Even my ACR-E track friends wish they could run Corsas because they can see how well they perform and last so long. Corsas are stock on some really impressive performance cars. But if you're hard core and need more of a track/racing tire then that's what you should buy.

The problem with the Corsas is actually finding them. I wore the fronts out in 3-4 outings this year. The left side did chunk out eventually, but otherwise seemed to perform fine. I finally found a front set on ebay from somebody in Canada.

It is difficult finding the 355’s and matching fronts in the alternatives so I would prefer to continue with the Corsas if there was reliable source going forward.

Haha, by "old" I mean the tires that can still be used. Sorry for the confusion here. Usually I will use 2 set of front corsa per 1 set of rear for track driving, so finding the front pair will be a more frequent problem.

hope ya find a set.. i had to look hi and low and think ive stitched togeather a set from multiple sources... the trick with these cars seems getting tires in the factory sizes; yickes! ive heard production for corsas is supposed to fire back up in another 3 months... but im not holding my breath thats written in stone.

i think the only other tires in stock in factory sizes besides slicks are the R888R’s. They look cool and have good reviews for grip... not so good for noise.. but its not like these are quiet cars. if i didnt have such a great exp. with the corsas id probably give them a shot..
