Planting the Seed for 2020 Amelia Island Cars & Coffee Father Viper Event. Here is this year's agenda:
1. Thursday sunset cruise with cocktails and cigars with Roy Sjoberg
2. Friday Breakfast with Roy Sjoberg and Chris Theodore
3. Friday hour Drive to Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base with Roy Sjoberg and Tom Gale
4. Friday Dinner with Roy Sjoberg and special guest Peter Brock
5. Saturday Cars & Coffee Reception with Roy Sjoberg, Chris Theodore, and Ralph & Doris Gilles
Year one is going to be outstanding, but as Confucius said, "Nothing was ever meant to do once." Year TWO will be even better!
If you have a Viper of significance, then consider 2020.
If you have a modded Viper, then consider 202.
If you have a 100,000+ mile Road Warrior Viper, then consider 2020.
If you want to enjoy a great atmosphere, then consider 2020.
If you want to spend time with your spouse, then consider 2020.
If your spouse needs some alone time, then consider 2020.
Amelia has it all....2020 - once you see the fun we had, your vision will be clear.

Yo!!
I was shooting Instagram stories the whole trip and finally finished stitching them together into one 40-minute-long video. Check it out embedded below, or click the link to watch it on YouTube, where you can make it full screen.
https://youtu.be/yIJ1B8SysEE
I also shot 70 minutes of 360/VR video that came out amazing. I just finished rendering all the files and still need to figure out how best to edit and share. I'll post those up here too when I get through them.
Also, count the number of times I use the word "roll".
Oh man you are a Savage! After 2 hours in my car, I would need a morphine drip for my hip/back. Great video! Thanks for putting it together....one of my favorite parts at 13:25...well, anyways...I got to "roll".

GoPro Fusion Studio does a pretty great job at the stitching and processing actually. It just takes some getting used to. The camera shoots in 5.2K, but processing in that high of resolution will only output an uncompressed .MOV file. The file sizes are YUGE and Power Director only recognizes the audio bit for editing, so that's out. You have to downconvert to 4K to get an .MP4 for editing.
I cut one more video of me walking the whole Cars & Coffee, but I've not watched it on PSVR yet. I noticed after splicing the clips together that the cuts between clips aren't consistently oriented, so I fear a jolt of nausea for the viewer. Watch any YouTube or television program these days and count how long any image stays on screen before there's a cut. It's fewer than two seconds. Since we all have ADD these days, video producers know that any static image or angle for longer than that causes the audience to get bored and change the channel. You couldn't possibly cut 360 video in the same fashion. The audience will all get sick, so you have to be careful of how many orientation changes and cuts you force on the viewer. Therefore, the video cuts tend to be extremely long, so unless the viewer is wearing a VR headset, there's no way anyone is going to watch the whole thing. I'll test the clip out this evening and post it for yinz to see.
You will be invited to every event!! Great video....did I understand there will be a 360?
BTW - got Savage right at least, I think?!? Will work on the first name for your next car sign

Hey Brian - Good meeting you guys at Amelia. Really enjoyed watching your video. I about fell out of my chair laughing at the small orange traffic cones in the store, especially the one that read "So many cats so few recipes." I loved the commentary on the boiled peanuts. We were curious but NOT THAT CURIOUS! Really enjoyed the local flavor you added about places you passed.
LOL Thanks for screenshotting the worst possible photo of me!! That's going to have to my my avatar now.
It's tougher to edit 360 video, because too many quick cuts will quickly nauseate the viewer (when wearing a VR headset, which I highly recommend). But 20 minutes of me walking through the show is way too boring unless you have a headset, so we'll just see what I can do. It will likely be multiple shorter videos than all in one, so people can just view the bit they want to see and not be forced to watch my walkthrough just to see the 3-minutes we were all on the road together.
Thanks!! That orange cone was just a random choice that turned out funny.
And now you know what the deal is with boiled nuts!!
Here's the first 360 video of us all heading towards the submarine base. It's only a quick two minute video. Okay on desktop, much better with a VR headset.
For those unfamiliar, use the YouTube link so you can make it full screen.
If you're on a desktop, use your mouse to click and drag the view to anywhere you wish. 360 cameras record a sphere of video. The video is available in 4K, so be sure to manually select that if your internet connection is fast enough.
If you're on a mobile, your phone will act as a "window" to a sphere of video all around you. You can use your finger to swipe and change the view, or better yet, move your phone around you. Pretend you're on a ship and you wish to look outside, and you have the ability to move the porthole anywhere you wish.
For those of you familiar, get a VR headset on and try. This video is a good neck workout. PSVR isn't all that high of a resolution, but Vive or Rift should be better.

Here it is embedded anyway, but the link above is better so you can full screen it.
Here's another video. Longer this time. 12 minutes of a 20-Viper-convoy from the staging area near the Fernandia Beach Municipal Airport onto the golf course next to the Ritz-Carlton.

Great video!!
