So much carbon fiber... The reserve has to be like 300K or so, well worth it.

For reference the Viper GT3 was $450k.

Its been listed on and off for $189k. Really nicely build and probably $300k to replicate.

Great car but pricey and its not a a factory Riley GTSR.

While maybe not as sexy as a G5, this comp coupe in Australia is really set up nice too, similar paddle shift EMCO and advertised 780hp at the flywheel. Comes with a ton a spares including a used hybrid motor for about $145k. Spare parts, especially body and motor are cheaper and easier to find.

Such a shame but I fear the market for this car is extremely small.

That Comp Coupe was awesome to watch at Bathurst the last couple years. Sorry it won't be competing this year.

The car hasn't broken one record in Nasa TT1 where the owner built the car for and was running it. Maybe he never even ran it? He switched to a Porsche.
Yes on $300K+ to duplicate, probably even more. The tranny/wiring had to be $80K alone. No way will he get more than $140K for this car, there's just no market for it.

Last time it closed at $70k and didn't sell.

I'd like to own it for <$100k. haha

Here's one of the auction photos, for reference when the auction is over but this thread goes on.

This car is so bad ass, but as Arizona Vipers stated, there's just no buyer's market for this. The owner is going to have to keep it forever or take a massive bath.

I'll take the carbon body tho!!!

Haha I saw the ones in the background. They weren't cannibalized, this isn't Hennessey's shop.

MAAAAAAAAN it looks so much cooler bare, but I think the car is more recognizable in the #61 livery. Same with that other "Bare & Yellow" G5R.

    Completely agree.

BEAUTIFUL cars. I would love the chance to get behind the wheel of one at a track.

Gen IV wing? Looks like it has been crashed. Just curious why there's no video of any substance and no lap times? The current owner is NOT the builder which I did not know. Based on what I am seeing on the McCann FB page from a July 20th post it looks like the new owner has had it for maybe two months?

    It was a meticulous build.

I've seen the car in person, on track, numerous times. It's a fantastic build with top notch components (just like Comp Coupe). This particular car was always running GT-1, or ST-1 when I saw it. Mainly NARRA, SCCA and a bit NASA. The matte carbon car was built for TT. At least that is what Dan Fiffick told me years ago.

Scott Welham was always the driver when I saw it running. Small market for sure, but if I was looking to build a serious G5 race car I'd consider it.

    Thanks!

Did you ever have the chance to come across it on a race track track while driving your CC or anything else?

I am definitely curious how well sorted it still is?

Unfortunately no. I was tracking a 2014 GTS at the time. The last race I saw it with NARRA, it was running with the Comp Coupes in GT1. Not the Comp coupes in GTU though. They were running more HP.

I think that yellow one was totaled. I know one if McCanns got wrecked pretty bad.
