Dynamat on the doors who s done it

Thanks in advance. Have door apart to replace fricken regulator and figured I'd add some Dynamat to the doors as the exhaust noise is getting annoying. Any tips/tricks/placement advice? Already did the rest of the interior - but was too lazy to take apart the doors when I did it.

My car already had it done before I bought it - they put it on the inside of the outer door skin only. The general rule of thumb that I've always heard is to knock on the panel and listen for vibration - put a small piece on the panel and knock again and see if it damps the sound. You shouldn't have to put it all over...just in key spots. The first part of this video kinda covers what I'm talking about:

I can't comment on the difference since I don't know what it sounded like before.

I did both the outside door skin and the inside door panel. I can here engine noise again, before I could only here the 3 inch cat less race exhaust.

Thanks pokeyl. That's exactly what I'm looking for. Interesting you also did the outside door skin. Just ordered some dynamat to do the same.

over the dynamat, I also added the Dynaliner and even the super thick dyna pad. Just laid that along the bottom. I squeezed 3 layers wherever I could. Along the trans tub, behind the seats, and of course inside the door panels. I did all of it through the speaker hole. I went as high up on the door as I could and made sure the bottom area was well covered.
