Google VIN, see what pops. If you are serious, spend the money and get both a Carfax and Autocheck
.
I was hoping someone on here had paid for the unlimited auto fax checks.
I thought someone offered that a year or so ago... hopefully they’ll help out. You might want to search some older threads and PM them.
PM sent....Thank You so much.
I sent you the AutoCheck report. Good Luck!!!
Got it....thanks again.
After gathering the data described above...and, then if you are still interested in said Viper, I strongly recommend that you invest in a pre-purchase inspection by an experienced Viper Tech ( which are in dwindling supply) at a CJDR dealer...making it known that you expect the dealership to stand behind said inspection. Adding an infirmed (especially for the sane Generation) owner to the mix is a real plus. Finally, YOU should go see the car yourself. Did I mention hanging on to a few thousand dollars for your future Viper's urgent needs is a wise move ??!!!! Unless the car comes through Woodhouse or Roanoke, there are ALWAYS "little"
surprises.
Good advice....I def plan on going to see the car myself but did not remember to take it to a certified dealer for an inspection. What are some of the "surprises" you have seen?
Frame-body-suspension damage that was undeclared even with clean Carfax, exhaust problems if modified, melted wires with headers, broken window regulators, door hinge issues, poor nose repairs, alignment issues, poor to no maintenance of fluids, non-functioning A/C, loose crank damper bolts, leaking shocks, bad tires, worn rear rotors from inner parking brake pads, road rash on wheels, paint damage to underside of sidesills, etc., etc. One could go on all day...which one needs an experienced mechanic's help. There is a lot of money at risk, and even more grief if wrong. In my opinion, no room for the common "ready, shoot...oops, forgot to aim" approach. It is easier to find a good car than to get out of or over a bad car. Please keep in mind that I know nothing about the car you are considering.
Well, Carfax not particularly remarkable. You still after this Beast?
I just sent you a text
