I don't know of anybody that has done it. You might be the first to try if you decide to take this mission. Post install pictures and results!!!!

The easiest thing to check will be the dimensions - the TR-6060 barely fits in the tunnel. Anyone that's had to remove the transmission from one of these cars knows how tight it is getting it in there...any larger in nearly any dimension, and it wouldn't be possible to get it between the frame rails.

FWIW..... I know this isn't the trans you intend on using but I put a Rossler turbo 400 in my gen 3. Had to modify the frame, tunnel and obviously a custom trans mount and driveshaft.
Rossler will build the trans with a bellhousing that will bolt up to the Viper engine.

Rossler is a high performance trans. and might be more than you are looking for. I installed a stall converter, trans. brake and a Gear Vendor overdrive.

The people that I know that have installed an auto had to do roughly the same thing. I don't know the dimensions of the ZF-8HP90 so can't comment on that trans. specifically. Maybe it won't be as difficult. Mark Jorgenson at Woodhouse has installed a few auto trans. Might contact him.

Good luck and post the results if you move ahead.

Have you ever even checked anything about this?
The 6hp20 is a FAT BOY! I can't believe the 8hp series being thinner than a 6hp. And that is just the easy part getting the trans to physically fit in the car.
Mounting plate to the engine? How are you thinking of doing with the electronics (management etc)?
That is not an easy task. And since you're asking on a forum instead of trying, sorry. A swap like that is most likely nothing for you.
