    Headers are not equal

I asked a question my Vintage Mustang Forum about stepped headers and why they are better/worse depending on the application. One member responded with this article and I thought it was a great read.
I am going to be building the headers on my BOSS 429 clone and even though the header build is still a couple years out probably, I still wanted to understand the differences in header designs. I was surprised how much header design can depend on the heads and cam for a engine. Going to have to do a ton of research on them!
    Here is the article: https://www.hotrod.com/articles/ctrp...der-dyno-test/

Header design is hugely important, but one very important thing that that article fails to mention is that a lot of cars have layout constraints that force headers into a certain shape/configuration that may be far from ideal. I'd put the Viper solidly in that category...hopefully your Mustang gives you some better options.

I know the one thing you can mess with on the Viper is the collector diameter, but I'm not sure how much impact you can really have, especially if you are running anything less than a heads/cam setup. About the only company I've seen that seems to care is Nth Moto, but I don't even want to fathom a guess as to how much one of their custom-fabbed header setups would cost.
