Wanted Viper Cruise and Car Show in Clifton Forge Virginia

Liz and I stayed at the Hillcrest Mansion B&B in late June and Martha Crawford ( Owner and Proprietor ) expressed a genuine desire to host a Viper Car Show at her Bed and Breakfast. This is one of those small towns in many parts of the US, that had it's glory days in years back, but is now showing a resurgence and is complimented by being in one of the more beautiful parts of the Country -- with also some killer roads to cruise. The Mansion has a driveway that circles the property and it could accommodate more Snakes than could actually stay there. There is an afternoon cheese/hors de voures/wine get together , along with an unbelievable breakfast served on China by a cute couple( in their 80s ) in Butler Uniforms. Martha and her husband Bruce are super excited about doing something with the VOA that they even sent me another note stating they would love to have Vipers on the property. Obviously , depending on interest to VOA Regions, this could be the Car Show for the City , or a great cruise for a Viper gathering. There is a secluded pool there , and the view from the top of the hill is fantastic, overlooking the mountain valley. It is only about a 30 minute drive to the Greenbriar , so one could make a unique weekend cruise out of this area if the car show would not gather enough of our members? She said she could host a bigger group for a party at the Mansion , even if others would have to stay at another spot in town. In spending over 15 years checking out Bed and Breakfasts I can honestly say that the Hillcrest Mansion, is, if not the best experience we have had, it is easily in the top 5!! Great info, Bill. I will be sure that VOA Regional President Brian Willey sees this. As you recall, he recently formed the MD/VA/DC/DE Region...and he was personally involved in bringing/hosting Roy, Dick, and Herb at the First Greenbrier Concours earlier this year.

P.S. Bill, I sent a text to Brian...and, I am sure that he will followup on this. He is a dynamic guy !!

Nice area very accessible from I64 and I81. Close to Lexington, VA and Roanoke, VA. Nice mountain area, about 30 minutes from me, sounds like a great idea.

Goshen Pass is a beautiful ride through the mountains beside the Maury River that runs 1/2 way between Clifton Forge and Lexington. Once in Lexington, you can head south on 11 and eat at Pink Cadillac which is within 10 minutes of Natural Bridge, now a VA State Park. Great area all around.

Thanks Steve and great minds think alike , as I sent Brian a note also. Clifton Forge is close to Douthat State Park , too, which I have been told is one of the top Parks in Virginia. Martha is really excited about this and even if it is a cruise with a stop overnight, I honestly believe members would have a dynamite time. Granted she would not be able to hold everyone if a large group goes, but the Mansion can hold more for a party and she told me about gatherings they have done. Either way hope this works out for one of two VOA Regions.

Darren -- I would love to road trip out myself , but so far this year I have been to North of Baltimore and back, then to the Outer Banks ( Ocracoke Island ) and back. I think I am road tripped out for a bit , ha!

Chatted with Martha and she can accommodate 100 inside , so that will help folks understand how there could be a Viper Get together , Car Show ,etc. there , even though she and Bruce only have 7 rooms.
