    Gen IV Actual Market Value

So looking at KBB the fair market value for a Gen IV is about 45k-55k. When adjusted for low miles it's closer to 50k-60k. If your looking at a 2010 it jumps close to 10k. Is there something different from the 2007-2009 from the 2010 model? What is the actual range I should be able to find a Gen IV in excellent condition with less then 10,000 miles?

NADA may also be helpful...note, there were NO 2007 Vipers.

2009's had a little less throttle lag than the 2008's with a slight change in the factory PCM.

Fewer 2010's were made...and, that year, 5th gear was changed giving much quicker acceleration to the top speed of 202 mph for a non-aero equipped coupe.

Frankly, I think all three years of Gen IV's are great cars!! And, yes, we have a 2008 and a 2010.

I agree, best years for the Gen 4, 2008-2009-2010. I have a 2008, and 2 2009. Great cars for the money. I am looking for a 2010. I am selling a 2008. I do not consider a 2013 until these enine issues are figured out. Love the Gen 4s.

So what is it that makes the Gen III/IV get over looked? You see plenty of Gen II/V for sale and compared to the Gen III/IV they seem to maintain there value more. I just prefer the look of the Gen IV and since I can get it a bit cheaper just st makes me even happier.

Gen2 are very much confused or match the looks of a Gen1, both are iconic.
The iconic nature is why the Gen1/2 have retained and maintained value. The gen3 looks different and is less iconic.

How many then 15-17 year olds dreamed of driving owning a viper when they came out. Me Me Me now mid forty with plenty of disposable income laughs at spending 40K on a car which they thought was unobtainable.

Gen3 doesn't fit that vision and looks different.

Gen5 are really just so much better than previous generations from a drivers and performance standpoint, nanny gear ABS and working A/C, and refinements in technology and shifting, etc. In my opinion they also look kind of like the Gen2 GTS. Consider if you drive a Gen5 and you don't typically walk away saying, "thank god I survived that", "wow that was just raw and obnoxious", or "my wife will never ride in this". All of which could happen in a Gen3/2/1.

    A Gen V is hardly better than a Gen IV in performance...especially a 2010.

Also, Gen IV cars hold their value as good or better than ANY previous Generation. A clean Gen IV under 10K miles is worth over 60K for a coupe and high high 50's pr low 60's for a Vert.

The Gen V has lost value compared to the original asking price. Dodge had to lower it 15K so they could sell. If you take that original price...they have dropped more in value than the Gen IV of similar mileage except for the like new ones that are 1-2 years old and the ACR's.

I love my GenIV! My GenIII was okay (it was stock with only a catback) but my GenIV is noticeably better in almost every way... engine, transmission, rear diff, and even the appearance of the hood. I can't say I don't like the look of a GenII, of course it looks good. But there has always been one thing that bugs me about the iconic GenII, the rear exit exhaust. I feel like the GenII GTS is the black sheep of Viper's. A Viper needs to have a side exit exhaust in my opinion. I think if you find a sub 10,000 mile clean GenIV for under $55K you have found a killer deal. If it is an outside of the box color, under $60K is a killer deal! I bought my GenIV two years ago. I was lucky enough to get the color I wanted, at the time I would only buy SSG or VVO. My car had $1,846 miles on it and I paid $62,500. I felt like I got a phenomenal deal. I even had to ship it across this country so I more or less paid $64,000 to get it home.

As for performance between a GenIV and a GenV, yes I realize they've knock some seconds off track times (put equivalent coil overs in a GenIV and it would be real close), but in a straight line it is extremely tight. When my GenIV was bone stock last year I ran another member in his GenV from about 80 to 140, we stayed at each other's door! He even had an Arrow tune. His was non-aero as well.

I plan on seeing a Gen 3/4/5 in person next week. Hopefully I can text drive two of these as well.

So what would be a good range for a Gen IV ACR? 7-10k more? What are the differences from the standard model and ACR? Aero kit, stiffer springs, wheels, tires....

  13. #13
I think the brakes are better also.

If the ACR has under 10K miles...plan on paying over 70k. They hold crazy good value. If the mileage is under 5K you'll pay upper 70's.

Adjustable aero package, two piece rotors, wheels, ride height and two way adjustable KW suspension, higher rate front anti roll bar and springs. Lap timer if it's a hardcore option car with an additional 40 lbs weight reduction. ACR package was a $12k option.

Low mileage Gen IV will bring in about $60k. Low mileage ACR will bring in about $70k. You can find Gen IV verts as low as $50k and ACR as low as $60k if you don't mind a little more mileage (like 20-40k). Honestly don't let miles scare you on a Viper, it means they have been driven and maintained (usually), and Vipers are pretty much bullet proof (in terms of an exotic).

Prices are all over the place , but in reality the cars have gone up some, at a gradual pace. Now some are asking insane prices just to see if someone bites, but it is quite rare that knowledgeable , long term Viper owners/buyers are paying nose bleed sums. The positives are that the prices are stable and moving upwards to a degree. I think a measured uptick and stability is what we want to see with a discontinued car, and I don't see any reason it will not continue. Like Frank B., I don't see this one as in a realistic vein, especially with the miles.

Because people keep their G4s! Everyone sells their no abs g2s and no one wants their G5’s with motor issues!
    Yep flame on girls!!!

Edit... super secret I have seen the G4 ACR lay down times on the track comparable to the G5ACREs.... stock...

If you look a track times at Laguna Seca you get the following fastest to slowest: 1:28.65 Gen V ACR, 131.58 Gen V ACR, 133.62 Gen V TA, 133.92 Gen IV ACR, 134.23 Gen V GTS.

I would sell my gen IV ACR with 60K in modifications and lower mileage at 10K under what he wants. That is just inane pricing.

And with equally skilled drivers like at Laguna Seca the Gen V ACR beat the Gen IV by five seconds. Guess it depends how you define “comparable”.

It’s interesting how Gen IV owners here feel the way to promote their generation is to denigrate other generations.
