    Corsa or Borla exhausts

    Hi Guys,
over 2 years ago i wrote about pro's/con's for Borla/Corsa/Belanger exhausts for my 2005 Gen III SRT10, and all was cool.
I played safe and bought new OEM standard CATS, and belanger tips which removed crossover pipe and increased the sound a bit. Looks good on side exit too.
Anyway.... beleive it or not i would not mind a bit more 'bite' from my exhausts..... not enough growl (venom..?) :-) especially at lower revs.
So..... Borla or Corsa CATbacks? Either seem a good option and i see available to buy on the viper store.
What are the key things i need to buy, change, be aware of when you get a CATback Borla/Corsa system etc etc, ? Also, is it true it keeps a CAT issue light (engine light?) on the warning gauge...? :-( Would be an emmissions fail and roadworthy fail here in Australia if so.
Would the CATback system avoid that fault and its just the highflo CATS that do that?
    Cheers :-)
    Mark

P.S i live in Australia and aside from Viperstore.com where would be good to buy Borla/Corsa/Mopar CATback system etc? Any links etc would be much appreciated! :-)

Belanger is one of the louder catback's available. I'd recommend headers or just high flow cats if you are allowed. You shouldn't get any lights with high flow cats, only if you went catless. You could also gut/remove the 2nd cat in the system, which will raise the noise level a bit but still keep the emissions in check with the first cat.

I have Corsa's and they are absolutly drone free. The Borla's can have some drone. Drone is a personal thing! Some people are more sensitive to drone in the exhaust than others.

^^^^ This, had a full Belanger system (headers, hi-flow cats, and cat back) on my '09 .... never heard a better growl, no CEL.

    Cheers RDV....
Ive come across various site forums (and you tube) relating to 'drone' issues. I am not overly phased by that as such but think it depends on level of drone. Prob prefer none or minimal at best. I see that the Corsa system is indeed the more recommended one for those reasons, which has to put that system top of the 'i must get' list :-)
I take it that a Corsa Cat-back system increases the noise a decent amount without being too 'unfriendly' ?

You can also mate Belanger headers with hi-flow cats and a Corsa catback system. A friend of mine has American Racing headers with hi-flow cats and a gen4 catback, sounds also very nice!

    Cheers RDV :-)
funny thing.... yesterday out in my Viper for a spin i went to put my foot down a bit (as you do...) :-) And found acceleration a bit hesitant/sluggish... poss 02 sensor? My Viper only 9000 miles. And i fitted brand new OEM CATS 2 years ago (about 4500 miles ago) when they disintegrated when car overheated (cooling stat failure) Reason i suspected 02 sensor is i smelt an excessive fuel burn off smell when driving :-/

Anyway, i am mulling over getting the High Flo CATs i seen for sale on Viperstore.com. and was gonna get Corsa catback but probably keep headers standard (only got so much cash!!)
