Hopefully it is not a failed engine that was not covered under warranty.

$7500 is just the starting bid. Doubt it will go for that.

It’s been on eBay for about a month, no reserve. If I remember correctly,it was listed for 7k even a week or two ago..

It says "used" yet it's in a new engine crate... Maybe I'm a natural born skeptic, but my gut tells me that someone pulled it during an engine replacement and put it on the new engine's pallet. Could be something as simple as a major engine upgrade where they bought a crate engine and the original engine was in fine shape, or maybe the engine is going to tick like Big Ben when it's started. I wouldn't buy it unless I was able to see it perform on a dyno first, and then do an oil analysis. $7k is cheap for a Gen V engine, but if it has to be turned into a coffee table, it's pretty expensive.

On that topic, does anyone else remember the Gen I engine coffee tables that were available around 20 years ago? I never saw one in person, but it sounded like a cool thing to have next to my kegerator.
