    Prodrive UK Factory Visit 2018

    Wow, what a day,
Drove up to Banbury (Near Silverstone circuit) today in the Viper. Myself and 3 others were booked in for a Private Factory tour of this Automotive performance company.
They have extensive history in Motorsport from Rallying, working with Subaru, BMW Mini, F1 cars to WEC GT3 and of course Le mans series and the 24hr Le mans with Aston Martin.

The Aston Martins have Just returned from le mans and were in the process of being cleaned and striped down for analisis and Preperation for the next race which will be at Silverstone UK WEC.

Some pics from the day, I would love to work in a place like this They had a hard time getting me out of the workshop

The early cars that got the Prodrive name noticed

The Development of this car cost over 2 Million Pounds and at the time Ford Owned Mazda, so they took a Mazda engine, completely reworked the internals and mounted the engine on its side

The Famous Colin McRae Rally car

Jenson Buttons F1 CAR Prodrive Built this V10 Powered car and got the car well up the Grid.

We were then shown the trophy cabinets!

    Race Trucks being unloaded

    The Spares racks

Some new cars being fitted with full race cages

Look at the Wheel (or what is left of it), when the Aston crashed at Le mans 2018 its resting up against the bottom of the tool cabinet.

👍🏻👍🏻Great pics! Always like to see the shop(s) inner workings.

    Thank you for sharing.

Q: why did they put the Mazda motor in on its side?

    Found this link

What I think they meant was they made it into a Transverse engine.
