What Are Set Of Michelin Tires Worth From 2009 Vert With 6 000 Miles - not tracked

Update: That's right, I have too many tires, and have decided to sell my other set of 285/18 & 345/19 PSS tires from 2014 with less than 1K miles on them. (My car has had 19s & 20s since 2017.) $750 for the set of (4), plus shipping - half price vs. new.

18/19s that came on the car in 2009 with 6000 miles - I have them in my garage - DFW area.

Original tires? Probably nothing considering the age. The general consensus around here (and among manufacturers) is that any tire over 6 years old should be replaced, regardless of mileage.

These 2014 tires have no value either. They are at a minimum 4 1/2 years old. The date codes probably show five or more years old. You would be irresponsible to sell them and someone would be crazy to buy them.

You are incorrect sir. And why would they 'probably' show that?

They are exactly 4 years old since mid-2014 manufacture, not 4 1/2 - check your math. (mid-2014 to mid-2018 = 4 years.)

And sat on the car for 18 months, with very little driving, before being removed with almost new tread (still have the nubs).

There is at least 2 years use left in them.

I got rid if a set of Michelins that were like 8 years old but only had 500 miles on them for $400 on craigslist. They aren't worth anything to anyone who drives their car spiritedly.

At best these tires have one year of life left and at worst they are useless. You asked for a value and we are giving it to you. Just because you don't want to here it doesn't make it wrong.

If you note above, I was asking for the value for a different, older set of tires from '09. Not asking that question for these tires. In the update that I posted above, I shared that I was selling these newer tires instead.

The date codes are not from January, and there was nothing above to suggest that. (This is not a 'how-to-read-a-date-code' thread, so I'm not publishing here.) These were manufactured at the end of May 2014. 4 years old. Not 4 1/2. Not 5+. Not 6. And 6 years is the standard useful life that most experts cite. And unlike some 4 year old tires that may have 15K-20K miles on them, these have almost new trend, with less than 1K miles on them and have been stored inside, so these are far better than a typical batch from mid-2014.

There are 2 years left on these tires.
