Gutting rear interior like the ACR saves 10 5 lbs

Just like the subject says, I removed everything in my '13 that is not installed by the factory in the ACR. All carpets, insulation, moldings and the speakers. It saves 10.5 lbs if anyone is interested.
Everything is so light on these cars, it's hard to get weight off them.

I took the engine and transmission out of mine and it is much lighter.

The factory seats are 54lbs. You can get a race seat around 15 lbs, but add another 10-12 lbs for mounting plate and mounts, and if you want it adjustable another 8 lbs or so.

My car is 2980-3000 depending on which tires I'm running. And that includes the 75lbs of ACR aero.

It's not a full race Halo seat but tillets carbon seat with brackets are about 10lbs together, that could be almost 100lbs deficit sans a passenger seat

An FIA approved mounting plate is over 10 lbs alone. You can get the side brackets down to 2lbs. And if you want it adjustable that's another 10 lbs per side.

I'm probably just not understanding, but couldn't you just anchor aftermarket seats to the factory mounts and be just as safe or a bit safer (fixed back seat) than the OEM/factory seat?

I would have kept all of that in, and just installed a lithium battery like the DSE offering, to save twice that weight.

Haha yes! I can't imagine how absolutely sick your car must be on track at 3000lbs, full ACRE aero, 9L, etc. Must be absolutely unstoppable.

If you were really serious about weight reduction, you'd get one of these.
    And use it. A lot.

By the way, if anyone wants to buy all this stuff to make their ACR a LOT quieter, please PM me an offer before I put it away in storage.
